My SSD died and the 'CloudSaves' folder is actually LOCAL????!!!!!
Today I lost my main SSD, that's okay, since V Rising has the Steam cloud saves tag and the game's save folder itself is called 'CloudSave.' I downloaded the game again and surprise, there's no save to synchronize?! Is this serious? 90 hours of gameplay down the drain because there's no damn cloud save."

no, cloudsave is the folder it copies to the cloud

local saves are stored here:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising

There's no cloud save, I created the server myself, even when 'synchronizing' the files constantly on Steam, nothing was saved.

Nowadays, any game can have its save restored quickly and easily; even Manor Lords, a small indie game, I managed to restore the save. But V Rising doesn't, it's bizarre in 2024 for a game of this size not to have cloud save, EVEN USING THE TAG THAT IT HAS

Maybe check your old cloud saves;

I didn't know about this option, I tried searching in it and found a file v3_ServerHistory.json of only about 3kb. How about yours?

The game backed up only this file and no other

what you mean ? there suppose to be 10+ files there if you played for 90 hours. If single file there than rip your 90hours.

Yep, there's no backup, just of that file I mentioned. There's nothing else to be done, thanks for trying to help. But for some reason, it backed up one file, but nothing else; it was the only game from my entire Steam library that didn't save on the cloud
