Report a translation problem
He is the first boss that I knowingly can see doing damage to me without any visual indicators which to me means that he is bugged in regard to animations, hitboxes, or visuals in some form of manner.
Eventually I'll solo or coop him as I've done so before. It's just annoying to take damage for zero reason.
I'll verify my cache and see if that changes anything.
Multiple instances after his swinging blades attack I'll get hit with no visual indicator of anything hitting my character.
edit: Yea verify showed nothing wrong with the game. Maybe it's a server issue...
Can someone else test this boss out on Brutal and see if his spinning sword attack thing has a bad hitbox or something?
Only boss so far that I've noticed has a clear zero indication of what is hitting me.
edit: Finally beat him even with his bs invisible damage. Probably the worst boss so far of V Rising.
If you think he is the worst Brutal has to offer as an adversary just you wait then.
He's bugged. Server is in New York and in no way have I noticed any lag issues so far in this multiplayer run through of the game on Brutal.
The hit boxes for his one slicing sword attack is completely out of whack.
Use dual shields as spells. just stand point blank next to him and absorb the blades into your shields. In the 2nd phase when he does a long melee combo use Slashers Q on his final swing.
I was tanking him with greatsword, blood counter and blood veil, while my friend went for aoe range build.
Greatsword E + veil + counter is enough to facetank his buzzsaw attack while still dealing damage. The problem is it either out of sync, or its hitbox bugged and now invisible. We thought maybe it was server lagging but after seeing these threads my guess may be the last patch broke him accidentally
This combo make him a joke, but otherwise his "ranged" blade make his fight pretty hard.
Solarus is not super hard, not even in Brutal he has some fun mechanics which is why I made a custom spawned version of Solarus via a mod (Bloody Boss).
As for problems with Solarus the only issue I've encountered with him on a technical level is his 'Divine Angel' which if it dies too fast before it has a chance to break Solarus's shield will render him invincible and you'll have to scratch the fight and reset.
I've encountered this bug since EA, so that is nothing new to say the least.
Glad to be vindicated in what is clearly a broken boss.
It probably took me over 20 tries to beat him using double shields because getting hit by those invisible attacks does like 1/5 of my health. Worst boss I've encountered in this game so far.
The hitbox for some of his attacks are clearly janked in a number of instances.
Maybe try him again on Brutal. Position yourself in different areas during his slicing blades attack and you might find something wrong.
I don't know if this occurs on other difficulties as well. Currently I'm now on the flying rat beast Shard Bearer and already that fight's visuals match the damage that I'm taking 100%.
Solarus is bugged.
I did fight him on brutal..now that you mention it I did use double barrier to block his blades up close so I might have not experienced this as much or noticed it. About to fight him again soon so Ill try and notice it
