How to get a roof without a walls?
So, I'm trying to make a hallway / corridor and want it to have a roof, but without walls. A workaround I tried was to place tiles above it, but then I can't get rid of the stairs I build to add said tiles.
I tried to make walls above it with Invisible floor as the "roof" which creates a rood on a higher level, but that still has the stairs issue from earlier. Is this possible?

You'd still get a 'wall' but doorways next to each other can make it look like a corridor with a roof.

I tried all windows and all doors too. That worked, but didn't look good. So, just debating what to do. Maybe just leave it as is.

It's not possible as far as I'm aware. The best I could do was to use the wide castle entrance. It really sucked because there's a nice, large plot near the Dunley vendors with a pond. I really wanted to create a castle there where the inside is open around the pond.

not possible. door frames side by side is the only way for now. I've accepted it not working and just using pillars with garden fences and braziers for cover ):

You can also build a 3 tile wide corridor and if you plan it out right can use the last option on the floors menu one floor above on either side. These floors eliminate the roof below it as well as add a balcony if next to an castle entrance tile. Gonna test this now.

Here you go. It's the smallest example of this at 2x3, but you can make it longer or wider with the same method. I went a floor below and filled out the walls to generate a roof. Then, I went up to the floor I'm on and laid down invisible foundation. You can go a step further and go up ANOTHER floor (which I can't do because I tested this on the third floor) and put more invisible tiles anywhere you don't want a roof. You can't checkerboard the roof this way, since there always has to be a ground connection, but you can start at either end of the sides and work your way along the length of the pathway and it will have another balcony above it, or you can use walls with a hollow space inside on the top floor if you want something solid instead of a walkway above. Hope the way I worded it made sense.

EDIT: As to not being able to remove the stairs, you're gonna have to have some sort of construction on the second floor for this to work. You can work your way from where the construction is to wherever the walkway is, but there's no way to do this without a ground connection on the floor above the walkway.
