Why is Dracula our enemy?
Do we fight Dracula? Is he an endgame boss now? Can somebody explain why it appears to me that Dracula, a vampire, is our enemy...I get that he will be an epic end game boss to fight but aren't we supposed to be sticking together as vampires to fight humans and such?

Or am I missing something here. Please help lol

You obviously have only played PvE as there are tons of vamps willing to murder you in this game...

the thing you miss are 2 simple words : daddy issues
You're thinking too much like a human. Vampires are monsters with no remorse or sentimental or ethical values. It doesn't matter that Dracula created us we want his power and to do that we must kill him, we will also kill each other if we need to to obtain that power. We want to rule over humans as they're beneath us and are our cattle to be harvested.

Hi there! We'll know more in the future but essentially the whole idea behind V Risings lore is that you have awakened to find Draculas empire in shambles and the humans spreading across lands that used to be controlled by him.

Throughout the game you struggle against the powers that have grown up in his absence as well as your fellow Vampires in order to take the lands Dracula used to control and make them your own empire.

Now you find that Dracula isn't quite as dead as we thought, and he doesn't like it that we're attempting to claim his crown and his legacy.

I'd be angry too >=[

So basically instead of like "Oh Dracula i thought you were dead i was taking the lands of your reing in your absence, they are yours again"

Is more like:

"I'm Dracula i was resting and getting power to take my lands back and you did that for me and instead of getting a common ground i will just kill you for taking back my lands and removing all those one that defy my name"

Seems quite cheese tbh. Dracula overal and even in castlevania still cared about other people.

Back when, Dracula had firmly established that he was at the top of the food chain. And you can bet he didn't tolerate dissent back then either.

Now he's come back, but he's significantly weaker than he once was, and his former subordinates are stronger - and have gained a taste of independence. The vampires we play don't want to go back to being Dracula's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and Dracula won't tolerate anyone who won't bend the knee. Therefore, battle it is, to determine who will be the top dog.

Vampires have always been enemies of eachother in vampire lore. Other vampires are competition (for food, if nothing else).
Dracula was never the King of Vampires...there was always someone before him that made him like that. Look at the old Castlevania games there was one that was before Dracula's timeline.

Castlevania? Dracula's lore comes from a Bram Stoker novel, not a Konami game lol. He is the king of vampires in practically every version of the character outside of Castlevania.
because "WHAT IS A VAMPIRE? a MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF SECRETS. BUT ENOUGH TALK HAVE AT YOU"

I just dont get why we appear to want to fight him...didnt he not MAKE us? It seems he would be an ally, not someone to fight. I dunno
Sigh if he made us and we should like him? Why did he leave us on our own to rot and die? seems didn't really make us at all. Also you can make people and they still hate you. Its like wierdest question I seen... Made father made me I still don't like him, and he saw me as rival as a teenager second I got taller and stronger then him he defiantly got more annoyed, and tried to show he ain't no bottom to no one.

Dracula isn't gonna share the moonlight with us. He wants to be the top, its like saying because were both human we should both be looking out for each other but always be that person who will sell you out for a dollar. Same deal Dracula don't care about us, were not an apprentice or some kind of servant even were left on our own in a graveyard to rot.

The point of this game is a lot of people want you dead, including Dracula, just he does give two ♥♥♥♥♥ till you become a big boy, till they he litterally leaves you to die to the fodder in the starting zone.
It is always the vampire's spawn's mission to overtake it's master. Being a vampire is about power and nothing else.
Is...is this your first run-in with modern day vampires? In the past they used to be fairly solitary entities with minions, but these days vampires are seen as an underground group of human-like undead/feral monsters that are constantly in a power struggle on top of wanting to rule over humans as much as they can.

It's not "We're all vampires, lets be allies and fight the humans together!" That's not how modern vampires think. Their way of thinking is "We'll fight the humans together out of necessity or because we gain something from it, but if I see a chance to gain more power I'll betray you and do so."

Dracula is the top dog. You've been claiming his past territory as your own. He's not happy about it. He wants to take his territory back. Meanwhile you don't want to give up the territory you fought so hard to obtain, and see Dracula as a relic of a bygone age that should stay gone.

You shouldn't be applying the sensibilities of humans with a decent heart, to basically evil undead monsters in human form.

Maybe he isn't the true Dracula and simply took your name?
