Question About Book Drops...

Can we farm specific books? Right now I'm looking for the Merciless Iron Crossbow book, is there a specific boss or area with this book in the pool? Or every book is random, you just need to keep killing a boss until it drops a book even if it's completely unrelated to it?

Important note: I know we can buy books, traders sell them for silver (in the case of the Merciless Iron Crossbow Book), that's what I'm not asking about, I'm asking about farming for an specific item (doesn't need to be this book).

it's really just random but i find you should be in the area of that level to have a better chance of getting the drop, or you can find the shady traders and buy it for coins

No you can not farm them consistently. Drops like books are random from mobs and chests.

It's random unfortunately. We researched all but 1 merciless weapons and then finally at the end we got 3 merciless iron swords...

Damn, this is annoying... Is so good when a developer allow us to know pool of bosses and farm that boss for an item. This means I need to buy the book, which means I need to reduce the vendor timer because I won't wait 1 hour to check if it has the book, it's just lost of time.

Thanks. I'm gonna set the vendor to 6 minutes refresh and keep checking if he has what I want.

In the same topic, I assume we can't farm for a specific Jewel, neither for a specific Gem, right? In this case, I already crafted more than 10 Blood Fountain Jewel, couldn't get the recast perk. Is there a way to farm for Blood Fountain Jewel, or for Red Gem specifically?

The books are random but the tier of the books, that's kinda obvious. You won't get a T1 book from an Act III boss. Yeah, I know we can buy gems but not being able to farm for specific things is so non-rpg =(

The problem here is the level of randomness. It is possible that both of you are right.

Isn't as random as "any book" but isn't as specific as "X book". The boss drop random WEAPON books, this means you can farm for weapon books killing her, we can't farm a specific weapon, but we can farm for weapons. I imagine there are bosses that drop floors, but a random floor instead of a specific one. The same with armors, the same with potions...

So... Technically speaking, both of you are right, in a different level. Anyway, it's good to know that Meredith and Jade drop weapon books. I have a question... Is there anywhere (like website, wikia) with that information? I want to complete my Study 100% before going to the next tier.
