Boss scaling in multiplayer issue and suggestions
Issue

Great game, but going to be candid and concise here - the scaling in multiplayer for bosses just doesn't work. In many cases, it completely ruins the experience. Many mechanics become unavoidable and create unfair gameplay situations. Generally, the game is quite well designed and always fair while soloing, but in multiplayer, the frequency of boss attacks, number of spawns, etc. crosses the threshold of fun and fully avoidable >>> completely unavoidable situations. Since hunts are the core aspect of progression, these fights need to scale in a much more refined way than a what feels to be brute-force multiplier on mechanics. Currently, if feels punishing to play coop. In many cases, it's better to just solo a boss due to how heavy-handed scaling is. Really unfortunate. This reminds me of Diablo 3 release where players felt compelled to just solo the game due to bad scaling.

Suggestion

Short-term, I'd recommend to change the scaling multiplier to ~1.3 per player instead of (what feels like) 2.0. Another quick fix would be to allow users to change the scaling multiplier in the settings. That said, long-term, I'd suggest keeping a multiplier of some sort (on things like HP, damage, frequency of special attacks, etc.) but more importantly, looking more closely at each encounter and capping certain abilities before they ever cross the threshold into unfairness, but that does require quite a bit more work.

But hey, it's still in EA, and I'm sure plenty of improvements will come over time, so I'm hopeful this gets resolved. As soon as it does, I'll be the first one to drag my friends back into the game so we can actually finish it :)
