Do I need to upgrade axe and mace if I only use them for farming?

The more damage you do to resources, the faster they break, meaning the faster you obtain their materials. So yes, you want to upgrade your weapons.

honestly dosent matter. you can go with just a sword for the entire game. can be a major waste of resources to upgrade every weapon, plus the take up a ton of bag space. so no you dont have to upgrade every weapon. i only make different weapons for the ones you can make on the ancestral forge. so pick your fav damage weapon and stick to that till you have enough disposable mats.

Awful, by not having a big arsenal you are just gimping yourself in PvE and asking to get completely destroyed in PvP.

Running around with a single weapon doesn't work well in this game.

been doing just fine with a single weapon. and his question had nothing to do with fighting it was about harvesting. so if you run around with a full "Arsenal" while farming for mats thats 7 slots taken up with crap you dont need. so you have more trips and more time taken. And quite honestly i have never needed to switch weapons mid fight to survive. So maybe you need to walk around clanking like a pot falling down the stairs to have confidence you can survive, im good with a single weapon i am good at using. You do you and have fun.

You should use them for combat too. The mace and axe have some nice moves and they deal as much damage as the other weapons anyway.
The mace also deals bonus damage against golems and axe against treants, as they count as minerals and wood respectively.

R u like, never left Farbane Woods or what? U need AT LEAST Iron Reaper iirc to defeat harder bosses. Cos of the Howling Reaper skill. (E)

Edit: Even if u ignore the fact that every enemy/boss is vulnerable for different types of weapons. And the fact that Mace has a STUN! Playing just one weapon is pretty much boring... And guns are nice 2 play with.

I wouldn't say you need it, but it does help. That Howling Reaper DPS is pretty tasty.
