The merchants are in camps now, one camp per zone. For anything outside of Farbane, you need to unlock Human form to do any trading.

There's 2 shady camps in Farbane that will trade with anyone. Then there's the Dunley Farmer's market in Dunley, and the stores in Brighthaven that require human form to access. Then there's one last merchant hanging out in Gloomrot North that will sell to vampires, too.

I think the merchant you're looking for doesn't exist anymore, and his functionality has been moved to the new merchants in Brighthaven.

There's a Herb and Potion vendor in Brighthaven, behind the nooses near the center of the Brighthaven trade district. They sell seeds for goldsun coins.

Their stock randomizes, so I'm not sure how available they are, but I'm looking at them right now, so I at least know it's possible.

Merchant items are random, except for the guaranteed armor+some weapon books. In general their inventory roughly matches what is normally available in the zone.

The coin system is overall way better in gloomrot. There are more coins, it's easier to carry them, and merchant prices are pretty reasonable now. Their inventory may seem a bit low, especially for seeds/crafting items/fish, but everything else has a good supply. Do consider doubling or tripling their stash in the server options.

Also buy a turbo controller, because there's no 5x purchase button. :)
