Spell Choice and PVP

all the spells are so cool yet i find that you can only use a really small amount if you want to play on a pvp server. Dose anyone else feel like the "meta" if you could call it that is really small and not well balanced? If you disagree could you give me some things to try out.

Mosquito + Static barrier + Veil of Illusion is super fun to play against the typical Chaos Volley + Counter meta.

With the new jewels you can use almost anything in PvP in the open world effectively without feeling as if you are handicapping yourself. PvP in Dojo on the other hand are an entirely different story and has less variety as there are arenas and the nature of PvP is different to the one being had at the regular servers.
