Action Bar auto filling

I haven't seen anyone complain about this or found any way to disable it but an option to disable action bar automatically being filled with stuff should be an option.

yea this 100% and honestly I'd like to control what personally goes inside the backpacks too.. so many times I have stuff hidden in there.

This is normal for survival games, you pick up consumable items and it goes to your hotbar if there is room.

I think the issue is.. when your bags are empty.... you will get certain items just placed in your hotbar.. like hearts, seeds etc.. I expect the hotbar to eventually fill up.. but only after the rest of my bags have. I know myself and a few others who have fat fingered a button during a boss fight and accidentally ate a heart or a rat that we did not put there.

Agreed, but it honestly isn't a big deal once you get all the weapons crafted, since they'll be taking up the majority of action bar real estate if not all of it.

The issue is actually a very big deal for some of us due to handicapped accessibility. I've had to substantially remap the control system in order to be able to play at all, and I need the action bar slots to stay empty.

Well it did make it unplayable for me because i'm sort of compulsive about these things and keeping things in order and clean

Has anyone discovered a way to disable this?
I want to assign hotbar items manually or have them remain open.

Items that can be used go into the hotbar if you have empty slots. That includes seeds and hearts. its really not that big of a deal. You are going to be picking up hearts and stuff anyway. You just have to remember when you get back to base to empty your hotbar so they can be auto stashed into containers.
