Tips for Maja?
Just tried her with a bloodmoon. I saw somewhere that focusing adds is the idea but I disagree. You mess that up once and they become too numerous and stopping to swing makes you too slow when dodging her attacks (that basically don't stop so you have to stay constantly mobile). I think I had warrior when I tried her as I can take away chunks of health quickly so maybe I should try rogue blood for speed instead. Even with decent warrior blood she heals too much if you cant kill the add.

Someone also said to use the greatsword swing as the mob closes. That is also risky because she hits you hard and interrupts any attack or spell cast when the sacrifice is made. I dont have the greatsword yet to try it, but it definitely interupts the sword abilities.

TLDR: Crossbow seems to suck for her due to windup to fire and sword also seems bad. Do you basically HAVE to use something with instant Iframes like slashers or mace?

All of the other bosses in the area seem so easy in comparison. Maybe its just because its a new boss and I don't quite get the patterns yet, but the glassblower is new and only took 2 tries.

The scythe is a good weapon to use against her and her adds, both abilities deal very good damage. Tendon swing deals good damage and can drive the adds off you for breathing room. Howling reaper can be used to keep damage on Maja while you move around. If you have a problem with sustain then high quality brute blood will help with that. Ward of the Damned can be used to trigger a bunch of skeleton spawns to help distract the adds and Maja, chaos volley for another damage source against her. You can also chug a brew of ferocity and an enchanted brew to speed things up. You can pick the dodge skill of your choice, I used Veil of Chaos for the second dash.

I go in with Frost Barrier and Ward of the Damned. She throws a lot of stuff at you that you can negate with those, particularly her simple ink bolt. If the ink bolt hits something or travels its full distance, it spawns an add, so deleting it with a ward means 1 less enemy to deal with. That adds up over the course of the fight.

Weapon choice is up to you. I frequently swap as I fight.

Yeah the primary ink attack is actually the biggest issue I'm having. There isnt much of a tell and if I just started a xbow windup its a guaranteed hit unless I dodge cancel. The rest of the damage I take is from either unlucky RNG with the diagonal book sweeping attack clumping two or three books that I can't step between or a random add lunge once they get in high enough numbers.

I was using Cyclone and Phantom Aegis. I think Phantom Aegis is probably not a good choice for this fight. I dont have Ward of the Damned yet, but Frost Ward might work. Alternatively Blood Rite to maybe damage ciricling adds (which is what Cyclone is for as well)

I haven't beaten the bosses for Greatsword, Slashers or Reaper yet :P

I mostly didn't want to waste the bloodmoon and I'm swimming in Study tomes so I rushed to Maja. I'll go back with a higher quality blood, potions, and a better weapon/spell combo as try it again later.

Ward of the Damned is from Kriig the Undead General, a boss 3 levels lower than her. You should have it, or should go get it if you've skipped him. Reaper is from him, too.

I wouldn't worry about blood moons. I've never felt like they were what helped me win any fight. If there are potential upgrades available for you, like maybe your amulet if you've not defeated Leandra, then grab that. A few extra gear score can really make the difference.

See I've had bosses that were moderately challenging for me become a cakewalk with a blood moon and decent blood quality. Octavian and the Swamp Witch, for examples.

But to your point yes I have beaten Leandra and upgraded to the scourgestone pendant. Any future upgrades require the study. Or at least I think they do.

The only powerups available that I didnt have were potions and my warrior blood quality was only like 38% or something.

Lower tier bosses I still need are Kriig, Tristan, Putrid Rat, Boneblade guy aaannnd I think thats it?

I used high quality brute blood with a reaper and veil of storm dash(Krieg&Meredith can be made to get into a scuffle with you swooping in to nail the one still left standing and claiming the 3X prize of scythe recipe+bone shield+veil of storm) so it was simple enough to just tendon swing adds when they got close toss the riper on top of maja when ever she stood still but more importantly get up on top of her for massive amounts of static augmented melee dmg that also healed me because of the brute blood...

Anyways just a quick tip for not just Maja but other slow ranged casters: directly behind them is the safest spot you can be while also allowing you to do some heavy duty melee dmg.

Just beat her VERY easily using a lower quality warrior blood (27%) and the sword. The problem was i was switching to the xbow when she was at range. You need to stay on top of her constantly - even using the dash to close the distance. I used Veil Blood with the blood fountain gem to do this.

Then Ward of Frost to tank book and ink attacks as you move towards her which will also damage her. Then I used Corpse Explosion on her and nearby ink demons and the sword spin attack when she tried to heal. That was enough to prevent the healing if I was already close to her.

Maybe a 2 min fight tops.

Nice! Glad to hear of your victory.

When I recommended the greatsword, I was talking about how you can hit them before they reach her, not afterwards. The timing is a bit tricky but the greatsword hurtbox is large enough to hit both of them without having it reach her. Being able to close in fast was the other reason I recommended it, because she defaults to her ink explosion when you're near her and all you have to do is avoid the blast and then get back in there to hit her some more.

I'll add to this that you can probably cancel one of her casts every 8 seconds with greatsword Q, and be invincible for another full second every 8 seconds with greatsword E.

Once you start playing like, with controlling the field in mind instead of playing for damage, everything becomes pretty much trivial imho, and you often end up doing more damage because you open the field to do so.

I think only 2 bosses are easier without the xbow and she is one of them
She moves too much and when she heal she usually has a stack of zombies protecting the one you need to hit

Blocking the Ink Move that summons adds was the only thing to Worry about. With a Reaper and Brute Blood I was able to just Tank Hits and Kill the Ink Demons that Spawn Randomly during her late Phase. The E ability when launched out a certain Distance helps catch the Circling Bastards and then the Q ability to Push them away when they all close in.

Full Blood Spells with No real Gemmed Effects to impact the fight. Blood Dash to her for health regen, Blood Rite to Block the Ink move, and Blood Rage to DPS the Ink Demon being consumed by her. My gear level at the time was around mid 40s. I can't remember right now, I think she's 47? So I might have been 2 or 3 levels below her.

She's not a very fun boss, Feels like a DPS race. Mostly cause the lower her health the More she summons Random ink demons. Maybe it was just me and Bad RNG with her summons, I didn't notice any cues or ways to stop her from the Triple Ink Demon Summons.
