why do caves disappear on map?

Caves don't "disappear", the map is always the same.

The caves don't show up on the map after a relog, which is what they're asking about. The icons for the caves should stay there once you've found them on the map.

They're not talking about the actual caves themselves not existing.

Sure thing. It's only apparent once one starts to look for them early in a session. I've been confused by them disappearing from the map, which is why I understood what they were asking about.

sorry everyone, i posted this early on before my first hundred hours and completely forgot about it. now i just 'know' where they are by default. but to be more clear, the caves do disappear on the map after a relog.
