Before you launch your server, there should be a button to open up your local save file directory. This should help you find where your save file as well as server config are located.

tried that but i only have these 4 files
ServerGameSettings
ServerHostSettings
SessionId
StartDate

none of which have a clan size option in them
there are .GZ autosave files but i dont know how to edit them or if theyll even have the setting i want to change

i just dont wanna restart as werver spent a while getting up to lvl 67 an dont wanna have to restart all that grinding over 1 setting that should be adjustable in game by an admin not sure y it isint
You want the "ServerGameSettings" file, the issue is that it only contains what it overwrites. Since 4 is default clan size, there will not be a line for it, but you can add it.

Try adding (including spaces in front of following line)
"ClanSize": 5,
Thou i've not tried that. If you need any other settings, you can make new server rules , save them and find on disk to get correct line to put there.

You can find all Settings for the Server in the ServerGameSettings.json.
The location is here steamapps\common\VRising\VRising_Data\StreamingAssets\Settings

Just copy and paste what you want in your ServerGameSettings.json in Save or Cloudsaves and change it.
Hey if you're looking for a dedicated server to play on, my group of friends (3 peeps) has one hosted 24/7 - its called "The Game Center" if you're interested

sadly didnt work it says server error then takes me back to menu an says corrupted save (i made a back up file just incase so my save isint lost)
Settings won't show in the JSON file if they're at default. You probably missed a comma or a bracket or something, the file is very particular about having the correct formatting.

Best bet is to make a new server with the settings you want, and just copy the file across, saves any problems with messing up formatting.
I followed this guy youtube video on this and it help.
