Devourer: Sawdust, Stone Dust
It looks like in our current state, sawdust and stone dust are acquired as a by-product of refining Wood into Planks, and Stone into Stone Bricks - and by no other method. If you place Planks or Stone Bricks into the Devourer, you get back 25% of the raw material that originally created the Plank or Brick. Since these are readily available raw materials, it seems unnecessary for the Devourer pattern to exist at all, and I suspect no one would use it except to return the materials to raw state just to process them again in the event that they need more Stone Dust for Whetstones or Sawdust for Paper. It stands to reason that if the Sawmill can make Sawdust as a by-product, it could make it on purpose too - but the recipe for that would be really problematic; every time there are Planks alone in the input, they get reduced to Sawdust? Madness. But...

Could the Devourer reduce Planks (or just Wood) to Sawdust, and Bricks (or just Stone) to Stone Dust? That seems more in keeping with the device's theme, solves a resource problem that doesn't make any sense for the Sawmill or Grinder, and would see more use than reclaiming 25% of a resource literally growing by the ton in my yard.

I mean sure this would be nice and make sense but I never had a "need" for either stone dust or sawdust beyond what I naturally produced as a by product through just playing the game. Even when I was going hard making hundreds of whetstone I only made a small dent in the 10 stacks of stone dust I had accumulated.

I blasted through all my accumulated sawdust very fast when I could make paper. But stone dust.... Yea, I still have alot sitting around. Likely because you need SO MANY stone blocks for castle building.

There isn't much need for extra saw dust. It is only useful for research, and gathered in huge quantities from servant hunts.

There is a need for extra stone dust, and even plant fiber. Servants can't hunt 'em, and they're in constant demand for all sorts of things.

What is stone dust in demand for aside from making whetstone? and plant fiber is great for paper and maybe making leather into cloth but that all comes to a foot eventually.

Like I said the idea is great.. I think it would allow people with the needs for them to then obtain them. I have no issues. We are all playing differently clearly and some need more than others.
