Counter raiding
can we please, for the love of god, get a system where killing raiders and picking up where they left off is possible? There is no reason for third party people to kill raiders when all they get is a dead siege. Much rather just team up with them and get a bit of loot.

i suggest the golem being a npc, and the rune being your tool to command it. Kill the player with the rune, grab control of the golem.

or something, anything, jump into the golem when it's defeated, i don't care. Just give third parties a reason to kill raiders.

As a PvE player who has never seen a raid occur because I'm in it for the RP I'm genuinely curious the thoughts of the PvP community around who is allowed to start and pursue sieges. Forgive me for not contributing more to the thread.

I only pvp, but i don't understand your question?.. anyone who can afford a golem should be able to siege.

I agree but 3rd party raiders didn't pay for a golem so why should they be allowed to siege?

From what I can tell there are risks associated with being 2 of the parties:
The defender risks the loss of their stuff
The attacker risks the resources of the golem vs the defenders and their spoils vs the 3rd party vultures if they win

The 3rd party risks nothing, so far, so why should they get free resources for just seeing the announcement in chat / on the map? Instead, you can just be patient. All it takes is waiting 2 minutes to see if the attackers win. If the attackers win they will loot the castle and then you can swoop in, attack them, and take their loot.

So why would the feature be added to further increase the risk of being the attacker? They are already the ones paying to make the attack so... what's the point? Technically it already exists if the 3rd party is patient... just wait 2 minutes. That's it.

Building a golem would become a liability because every other team who wants to build golems can just wait for you to build one, come clean you out, and then still have the opportunity to take the defender's resources. All it does is increase the risk of being the attacker for the duration of the siege and it incentivizes 3rd partying instead of incentivizing being the assailant.

This is mainly to prevent third parties to team up with attackers so they can get a small amount of loot. Right now, every time there is a raid, it makes sense for everyone to just join the attacker side, and then it's a 4v12.

As you said, as a third party you can already just wait until the attacker has won and swoop in. So the risk that attackers loose everything to a third party is not a new thing. Which means there is no new risks at all. Building golems is already a liability, again because of what you said.

And remember this also ensures that the original attacker can come back, and retake their golem. It adds more chance for PVP, and also gives defenders a chance to fight everyone in a massive battle if third parties try to counter.

If you're sieging with only 1 golem and no spares or explosives, you're bad.

I thought this was a thread about countering sieges. I've never seen a siege fail, it seems if your base gets golem'd you're screwed because the entire server will swarm like flies to pick off pieces.

well it is about that, just not directly. What i want here, should hopefully ensure that the entire server doesn't zerg you.
