What known issue.. there is no issue to fix. You need to get better and kill her that's it.
My friend and I are running through the game again.. we are currently on The Duke of Ballaton.. we killed Maja first try.
There are bosses WAYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYYYY worse than her.. she is difficult but learning her move set helps a lot.
I am quoting you, just cause I think you are who "resurrected" this post.
I did struggle with this boss initially when I was trying to stay far away from her/range her, and maybe trying to ignore the minions a bit in hopes I can just finish her off.
But when I changed the strat to just full force melee cleave her she was sooo much easier. I used a greatsword and the illusion Phantom Aegis shield ability/Bloodrage increase attack speed little heal ability (Blood Rite parry ability can be good but I suck with these kinda abilities xD).
Just run at her and when she blinks away keep on her, this way you force the minions she spawns to be next to her as well to cleave them, so that when she starts the healing thing the minion is already at low health.
Save your shield for eating her paper attack/direct ranged ink attack she has, these are what hurt the most. The papers are actually kinda easier to dodge if you are next to her, because if you are behind the animation you avoid the entire situation lol.
1)This does not block Ink attacks cleanly like a shield/counter ability does, meaning she still spawns her adds on hit even if you absorb the damage.
2)Vs most of the bosses with adds the best course of action is to kill the adds ASAP and a non-damaging ability does not help with that.
I dunno I tried to aoe the minions the first few times but if I recall they move a little weird, and then she blinks and starts papering so I was like I am not even going to bother with them xD. When she starts tunneling one of them, I'll try my best if I fail ow well.
I like Aegis though in general...I dunno the random spell resets/mass weaken/shielded while swinging feel good to me, and I think you get higher cd reduction if it lands on adds no? I don't recall her adds actually doing any meaningful damage.
I mostly aegis/bloodrage melee swinged to death most bosses. I am not like saying it's ideal, but it felt like I can play stupider.
I did have to switch up to full ranged spells mode with some of them though, keeping it spoiler free I guess.
Bloodrite is I agree waaaay better, but I am just terrible with such things.
