Gonna keep replying to this one with the ol "this was the only boss I killed on the first try and mostly by accident because I wasn't really trying that hard and picked an awkward powerset to do the fight since I went in blind". Don't overthink things and just keep moving to avoid the strikes, or use a shield. The mobs are kinda bad at tracking and the shots aren't additional mobs shooting at you like basically every other fight after this.

I knew we had the power to raise the dead, but this is one hell of a necro thread

Just died to this boss a dozen times, getting her to what looked to be 1% hp twice. Add killed me once, second time I died to idk what. Used the greatsword leap and I just died when I hit her. I had to stop playing and I'm not sure I'm gonna start again...

Also, why in the ♥♥♥♥ is the Study now locked behind this boss, one of the final bosses in the zone? I have a chest full of research books I can't use and my gear level is below all available bosses to fight but I can't make anything new cuz no Study....
Ummm, she's not even CLOSE to being one of the "final bosses" of the zone... As for your gear being "below level" is again wrong, by the time you are fighting her, you have access to an entire gear level of 47.... wait a minute, that's her level too! Crazy I know.

The developers have already given you the tools to nerf the fight yourself. Get off your lazy ass and hop to it. No need to ask the developers to ruin the game for everyone else just so you don't have to fix your own mistakes.

If you're playing solo, edit the config to lower the boss's level. If you're on a server with other people, ask them for help or something. Why do the developers have to screw with the game for you?

Leave my game alone lol Keep your personal problems to yourself. Stupid request
im playing the game solo with the damage received and unit hp pools tuned up a bit for like a pve challenge and after doing maja for a good week of trying I found that just riding on a horse in the arena was really the only way I could do it with the hp and damage rates turned up, I think in a normal session you are suppose to clear the minions with AOE spells but in my game they are simply too tanky.

just try get a horse with decent speed and turn rate and a crossbow of the highest tier you can, then go into that room and hug the walls and clear as much furniture as you can and then go back outside and get on yr horse. then just go in circles around her and shoot her with the crossbow, she will heal and theres nothing you can do about it but if you consistently land shots and go in circles around her you will eventually kill her with like 40 minions following you the whole time XD

Skill issue. One of the easiest bosses in the game. Learn to prepare for boss fights.
If you have trouble, try her at a blood moon with 100% blood type and late game potions. Use reaper, chaos dash, chaos bold and corpse explosion. Don't be stagnant, circle around her at all times.
How tf you gonna get late game potions when she gatekeeps the study required to get the gear required to defeat the bosses that provide late game potions?

EZ. You can buy them with Gold coins in Brighthaven.

In before "Hurr-durr the enemies take forever to kill at that level!", you can get gold coins from locked chests in houses, you can get there with Rat Form.

You can even buy yourself enough materials for tier 3 armor without Study if you're patient enough.

Just need to beat Octavian once, but he's trivial, I've posted a video beating him at 35 GS with random crap blood and no Jewels.

That will get you from 47 to 60. And at 60 doing Cyril and Foulrot is quite possible. That gets you Silver weapons and 65 GS.

Then you do the Baron and voila, you are full tier 3 gear with no Study.
I agree she needs a nerf. She does entirely too much damage for a boss with such a wide attack radius. By the time you get to her, your health is just barely above 400, and every one of her attacks, including those of her minions, is never below 30. Even if you manage to find a warrior or creature with blood quality of 60+ to get a damage reduction buff, that's still not gonna mitigate enough damage for you to find the time to safely damage her. And forget leaving the room to stand behind a wall and heal, cuz that'll just reset her health. The reaper is fantastic for taking care of the minions, as a single Q will easily wipe them out, but when she goes for a heal, you don't have enough time to kill the minion and dash away because she immediately casts another ink demon at you, dealing on average 38 damage, which is a pretty devastating hit with how difficult it is to dodge her wider AoE attacks while also dodging minions. Overall, her damage is too damn high for a boss with so many wide range attacks.

The widest range attack can be simply walked through with precise control. Or just blocked with any counter/shield skill.

And yes, you can actually fumble terribly and eat a ton of her attacks and still win because she has low HP, as demonstrated in the 2nd half of this video, where I reset her on purpose since I didn't like the 1st take to be illustrative enough:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jVwbMYXb-o

This is using average Warrior blood in the 30-59% range which you can find within 5 minutes in Dunley. The difference between 30 and 59 is like +1-1.5 extra damage at most, since qualitative changes appear only at strict intervals.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL0ShFTdanY

And this is how it is done when you have skills. The Ultimate easily disrupts her big summoning round that she does below 50%, and if you block everything with shield/counter no demons even get to spawn until she's like 33% or so.
One of the easiest bosses in the game if you do it right. I use axes and chaos volley, blood dash, blood rite. At level 40 I can do her without taking damage. And yes, I kill minions. They die easily with an axe E to Q combo. Very important to focus down the minion she heals off and then just save dash or counter for her card spell. Keep moving and do damage to her when comfortable. Super easy.

I would say that most bosses need a buff. Most of the are medium to ridiculously easy once you learn their moveset. and if you play coop they are ultra easy, like... just another mob but with a bit more life.
That's V Rising's problem. The game is too easy. Come on.

What? She is so easy that i didnt even realize when she was already down. Probably easiest boss off entire region
Come on. This is a kiddy game. "Super Easy." "Ridiculously easy."

The Devs of V Rising must be proud. Their forums are full of complaints about how difficult the bosses in the game are about how easy the bosses in the game are. If only the people of Steam could understand that the Bosses of V Rising are soooo easy they're supposed to be challenging.

Funnily enough people who beat the boss no problem dont post about it, compared to the small % of super noobs that struggle, where server settings exist for their special needs.

It makes sense to reset the boss fight 1-2 times when its your first time but something like 5th time? That's utterly embarassing and probably means you have a very poor approach youre not changing.

Use a sword and whirlwind attack. Stick on her and kill the adds and her with that attack. As soon as you let her get range on you and allow the adds to run rampant you will die.
Ok, so I have read all the responses and have to say, some people are just jerks. Just because one person was able to kill Maja easy does not mean someone else can. I have been struggling with her for over 3 hours now. I have tried multiple combinations, weapons and still no success. Not to mention I am a controller guy, so it really sucks with mouse and key board. Not to mention this Exclusive window does not work. Hey Dev, it's been years with this known issue and still no fix. What issue for the jerks who say get better skills, when you move your mouse 2 far to one side and you have multiple screens the mouse click takes you away from the game, hence by the time you click back on the icon u have gotten a few extra hits. Either way, I do agree that putting the Study behind a boss makes it more of a challenge. But over time I might kill her, if not, I will probably be the richest iron lord in the game, lol. Fix the screen issue developers, it's really to the point of being a show stopper. I also read that on the final release you will have controller support. Shame on you to wait this long.
