Old archways and doors?

Is it just me or do the new archways and doors look terrible.
Before they used to be a decoration element in some places even, now the rectangle of a door they call an archway looks very poor in comparison

Yeah I noticed that as well. Doesn't bother me as much if there is a door in the frame but I don't like the look when using it as a hallway entrance without the door installed.

Might have been something they had to change for the multiple floors to work properly as the original doors were pretty tall.

They can just remove the "top" wall of the "archway" and it would look better.

Using it for a doorless cosmetic part looks very bad with the rectangle around it.

But you're probably right it has something to do with multiple floors.
