Is it ready for a coop experience?
my friend and i were looking to get back into survival crafting games (was actually building up a modpack for valheim to finish up that game) but this caught my interest before but left it on hold due to being on early access but now that the big content update is out...would it be the perfect moment for that?

if so...how fast from the start of the game coop starts? can you do the whole campaign in coop? does it have coop scaling?

Co-op is doable right after the tutorial. I wouldn't say the game has a campaign tho, more of checklist system which just unlocks new crafting progression. It is just a big open world for you to explore at your pace. Fights do scale based on the amount of players

It is pretty similar to Valheim in a lot of ways.

No campaign or story missions but you do need to defeat bosses to get recipes etc unlocked. There are other means of getting some recipes but it's pretty much kill the bosses to get the recipes you need to advance to next zone.

yeah this is a lighter survival experience than valheim, the world is not procedurally generated though. Definitely playable coop and definitely really fun. Game might be EA, but it's polished, doesn't feel like EA when you play it. If you like Valheim, chances are you will like this.

You can co-op within minutes. Run through the cemetery they start you in and pick which half of the map you want to start in. Then clan up and you're ready to play together.

Scaling increases boss health and the amount of minions they summon when another player is nearby.

It's a good Coop-Game
You both only need to finish the Tutorial Section on the same World, when you leave the Area you get a Choice where to Start in the World, you both just need to take the same Starting Side :-)
Once there you can see eachother for the rest of the Game.
Group up, build together, store Stuff together, progress together.
One could go farm an Enemy Spawnspot, while the other gathers materials.
Like the others said, its more a checkbox System, but share a lot of similarities with Valheim.
Kill Bosses to Progress is the Main one. The Difference is, the Unlocks are "smaller" cause i dunno there are like 30 to 40ish Bosses?

The newest Playthrough with the Gloomrot Update was like 30hours for me, only counting Progression not Building Fancy Stuff and completing everything ^^

If you Guys find the Game to hard or too easy, you can edit a lot of Stuff for your World, Enemy Health, your Health or Dmg, more Resource Drops or Less,

It doesn't really feel like an EA Game.
We got alot of Stuff to do, there is even an "Endgame" it was even there before Gloomrot.
Big Scary "Worldbosses" (i know every Boss is a Worldboss but yeah :-P)

If you guys are bored, you could even build both a own Castle just for ♥♥♥♥ and giggles and decorate it like hell.
With the newest Update you dont need to build a Castle you can build a 6 Floor high Tower if you want to.

If you Guys like Valheim, and like a "Van Helsing" Setting and have nothing against a Top Down View, go for it :-)

Coop is good to go but be aware you're gonna want some mods to make the game playable if not setting up a server. Look on nexus mods for ones that speed up certain aspects that are based on real time hours spent in game. Sending out servants to get resources is one off the top of my head.

If you want to wait for a full product then there's another 2 updates to come, which means it will likely be done next summer, if we're lucky.

You can co-op as is though, no problems there.

yep. You really have to have some if you're not playing on a server thats always up. We use one that makes the time based things like servents being sent out go faster. It turns 24 hour missions into like 6 hours or less depending on what settings you do.
