The Largest Base Spot
With great sadness I found out that my top base spot in Farlane Woods, north from waygate, west from Hallowed Mountains, that extremely large spot next to road, got butchered into two parts. Why, just whyyyyy?! It had no PvP value and was great for builders. Thanks very much!

Now if you have idea what is the new largest base spot be sure to share! I am still figuring out what would have some square or rectangle properties close to the old one...

Another post said the spot near the iron mines in the farmlands is the biggest spot now.

They made the largest spots into 2 since they added multi tier castles now, you can build upward instead of outward and have the same amount of room as if you did just being a single level castle. You can have upward to 6 floors depending on server setting.

The issue is not being able to build up, it's more so that we'd have to rely on making our castles look somewhat... Castle like when we build up, instead of some kind of mis-shapen plap of stone. Depending on where you build, if it's a small base plot, your castle won't really look much like one, just more of a tower. Which isn't what I signed up for, I signed up for the big castle building experience, who doesn't want to build a big Vampiric castle to call home?

They even split my favorite place in half where I used to get three different heights, and with a bridge and a pond. But now they changed that, which is depressing to be honest, was a nice spot.

I corrected myself in the Other Thread, i used the Plot north of the Iron Mine the longest Time, 241 Groundfloor Tiles i think and completely Flat.
But Today i discovered that one of my old favorite Spots didn't get butchered, but sadly its in Silverlight Hills.
Just North of Brighthaven.

I Used nearly 300 Tiles just to cover the Ground.
It has only one Entrance, which is a Stonebridger over a River, the River itselfs borders on site of the Plot. One Side is covered with a Mountain and the other 2 with Void.
It was there, that i discovered that we can build over Cliffs now, if its still in your Border.
Cut a few Tiles away from the Borders to get a Straight Line and i had one Huge Castle with everything i needed.
2 Towers at the Side of it and a Huge Garden.
Used 500 out of the 600 available Tiles.
So it is possible to not only build Towers, but Castles aswell. The Plot is relevant, and the right use of the new Floor mechanic too^^

It feels nice to know that I am not alone in my misery :D Some of us love squares and rectangles, have serious OCD and feel indescribable pain when things are NOT EVEN!

I believe I found a new best spot for the largest even base and that is north of Matka the Curse Weaver and west of Duke of Balaton. It is possible to get there right from start of the game with a lot of dodging and hidding. It comes with a catch in form of the Curse of the Forest. Building waygate mitigates that problem and having server with item teleportation block off helps a lot.

Placing ruler on my screen with maximal zoom on webmap gave me 84 quare cm (12 cm * 7 cm) of even place which is the largest I cound find. There are few that were around 60 square cm I think. Note that I talk about even place!

@totto hey boss I think I found a good one. it is south of emberleaf grove and east from the outpost. two elevated platforms with a large base level area, the entrances are one wide bridge and then on the north side a two wide (permanent rock setting) then one wide area.
it has a pond on one of the platforms and the other is overlooking the void.

what are your thoughts on it sir?

Multi floor castles mostly solve the problem, but it's a bit daft that this update has added the building pieces to make an awesome hedge maze, and taken away anywhere big enough to do it

If anyone here doesn't like the new territory system please vote on the suggestion board to have the option to turn off the territory system in the server setting, link is here to do it on their official site:

It whas alo my favorite spot, i tought that with gloomroot i will be could create additional froors and towers, but no, someone decided to ruin my whole plan, all other places are so tight like my cat collar.

Good find. I just bulldozed and paved over it, and it has a total surface area of 237 tiles (including cliffs and ramps).

I'm trying to build a giant multi-level hedge maze for a friend, but I'm already using the location north of Brighthaven for my main base. This one is both satisfactorily large and nearby for easy resource transfer.

At least the changes to souls shards will stop the no-sence mazes and honeycombs, making it dropeable gear piece instead of something you can hide in your base.

Why do people not read timestamps..

Like congrats on finding a good base spot.. they are all good..

you must be playing on a PVP or a huge PVE server because when I play with my friends we don;t care.. you can build up now.. it's moot.
