Private server or private game
Hi,

I've access to a own server hosted by G-Portal. But as I will play this game anyway only solo, im thinking just to make my own game locally.

But I've read that there are significant disadvantages when playing locally due to offline time (i.e servants). Is this true? Most data I found in the net was a bit outdated.

Should I go with my own online server even if I'm playing solo or can I tailor the single player settings enough to go with my own local instance?

Yes, You can tailor the settings in a Solo "Hosted" Game.
If you leave, Time stops (I Think)?
Maybe it skips to Local Time, im not sure.

In any Case you can just adjust the Time it takes for Servants etc.

ok thx. In the server settings I haven't found the option to increase mission running timer. Only loot outcome.

Note before: There often is confusion when it comes to "local servers", because people mix up "true" local servers with local hosted games.

1.) A local hosted game only progresses in time when actively runnning, so yeah... this is annoying when it comes to time-based actions. You might have the game running in the background with your char sleeping in his coffin to counter this. Alternatively, you could edit the parameters for your local hosted game and reduce time needed for various tasks (or increase loot per hour for servant missions, respectively).

2.) You could use another PC in your lokal network to set up a private dedicated server. (IIRC: Can be downloaded on github, only for windows-based machines at the moment). However, this PC would also have to run all the time to let time progress. Basically the same effect as a permanently running local hosted game, but this removes the need for the game client constantly running in the background of your main PC.

3.) Commercially hosted servers... such as the one you already have. Probably the most convenient solution, if you don't mind the costs. Has the benefit that you could easily invite friend later, if you want.

Solo hosted game time does not run when you are not playing so crafting, missions time, etx does not continue to advance when you are not playing.

Dedicated server time will always be running so while you are not playing things will advance and complete between play sessions.

Yes you can tweak the server settings to account for this for solo play such as crafting time speed up, etc. There is no setting to speed up the mission time though.

We are playing a local hosted game together and would like to adjust some settings afterwards, but I haven't found out yet how to do that. Is there any possibility at all, or do you have to start a completely new game?
