Best way to experience the game? Solo PVP?
Hi, what settings do you play on?
I've tried PVE this patch and while it's fun to join others, I feel it lacks that sense of danger and uncertainty. Clan PVP battles usually come down to iLVL and how much time you can invest into the game, so was thinking if Solo PVP servers would feel different for a player who can only play after job and not get steamrolled after 24h.

I hear a lot of good feedback from singleplayer experience with modified gathering and stacking rates.

I practically exclusively play this game single player. I typically just turn up castle blood essence drain for a bit of an extra challenge since you don't really have any other concerns there when you're the only one in the world, why not make it more exciting lol. Otherwise, everything is mostly default; I like challenge though, so that extra grind isn't an issue for me.

Not sure if that's what you're asking about aha, but hope that kinda helps in some way.

If you want the best way just forget about this game for 6 weeks and start on a solo pvp softcore server after.

Thank you, I hear both of your points.

I totally agree with this statement.

I'm totally clueless, what happens in 6 weeks ?

I'd say most people move on after 6 weeks, so you'll have a more relaxed time.

PVP in a nut shell:
- kids and unemployed folks camp mines 24/7 killing anyone on sight
- only offline raiding
- some PVP servers might be like a PVE server because no one wants to fight

Devs reduced the area for building, honeycomb bases are now "cheaper" to offline raid. It's as if they were encouraging offline raids.

In the end, I switched to Solo/Duo PVP server with no castle raiding on merciless.
It works, people generally have no interest in your castle, and think before fighting. Only had to run away once when met a duo, other than that, it's been pretty chill.

Honestly, this game is very fun to just play a solo world in. Pvp not really necessary -- a lot of the later bosses will be pretty tough to solo. Provides a lot of challenge that way and you can just progress through the game without having to worry about drama or griefing nonsense.

PvP can spice things up if you are planning on playing with a group of 3+

"sense of danger and uncertainty" boils down to "stress and frustration". I have enough of that dealing with working and bills. I play games to get away from stress.
