It might discourage the people who were not playing in the first case, but just jumping in and feeding the heart meter for a week; JUST IN CASE THEY MIGHT.. Most annoying..

They did make it much easier for a player to take control of whole area's now.
First off almost ALL EA games when adding new content especially major updates require starting over. If starting over every couple months is an issue? don't buy EA games as it been part of the process for decade if not longer. One guy was complaining about a server he rented for a month not keeping his data for 6 months when he came back.
Its a Early Access if they drop another major patch in 2 months things will be reset, why buy EA games if this bothers you?
