The Camera Mod

I wonder what the devs think of the camera mod? I'd be curious if they'd ever consider some kind of official support or implementation. The game seems totally fine with a real 3rd person (and even first person) camera.

It might actually open up the game to a wider audience. I know for a fact I have a couple friends I've try to get to play V Rising and the response is always the same "Oh it's top down? I don't play those kinds of games"... Definitely a bit narrow minded, but they can't be the only ones out there with the same response.

Hey man I agree with this. At the moment its only client side only right now. Its actually kind of epic how much detail you cant see from top down. We are trying to implement it to our new server if you wanna check it out, or at least set up a tutorial on how to do it as its how we made one of our trailers. Feel free to check it out!

The 3RD person mod ads SOOO much more immersion and you can actually see the amazing work the devs have done on the assets animation etc. This mod just unlocks what's already there that the DEV's disabled etc. NOW That we've been forced to start over from scratch I hope the dev's of the 3rd person mod update it.

I can understand why they limited the angle like they did. Most peoples' PCs couldn't handle the additional render distance. It would be a pretty significant advantage on official PVP servers. This is a thing that is probably best left to mods and modders who want it for their private/single-player servers.

I hope this mod gets updated soon. I had to remove it because it was crashing my game after the May 17th update. I wish the devs would implement this camera [angle] option as a permanent feature.

I agree. Couldn't use the camera mod after the update. Very sad :( It made the game so much better to play!

I watched a video about this mod after seeing someone mention it yesterday (diff thread). Looks like it would be a LOT of fun. Certainly more immersive than it currently is. Would be nice to see the devs add a camera option like that.

Dem kann ich nur zustimmen. Obwohl es mich in den Fingern juckte habe ich die letzten Wochen das Spiel nicht angefasst, da ja nach dem Update ein Neu Anfang sein sollte. Und ohne den Camera Mod ist es, sorry das so zu sagen, einfach nicht das selbe. Es unterscheidet sich nun nicht mehr groß von Diabolo oder zig anderen Top Down Spielen. Mit dem Camera Mod waren die Kämpfe spannender, die Landschaft schöner und allgemein das ganze Feeling besser. Bis der Mod wieder funktioniert habe ich keinen Grund das Spiel wieder anzufassen, weil mich die Perspektive schlicht nicht reizt. Oder sollte ich eher sagen, weil ich weis wie viel schöner und besser es mit dem Kamera Mod ist. Schade eigentlich, aber es gibt noch jede Menge anderer Spiele mit denen man Spaß haben kann. Eine vergeudete Chance für die Entwickler von V-Rising.

I can only agree. Although my fingers were itching, I haven't touched the game for the last few weeks, since there should be a new beginning after the update. And without the Camera Mod, sorry to say, it's just not the same. It doesn't differ much from Diabolo or dozens of other top down games. With the Camera Mod, the fights were more exciting, the landscape was nicer and the whole feeling was generally better. Until the mod works again I have no reason to touch the game again because the perspective just doesn't appeal to me. Or should I say, because I know how much nicer and better it is with the camera mod. It's a shame really, but there are plenty of other games to have fun with. A wasted opportunity for the developers of V-Rising.

The modders have shown that it's possible. So I see no reason why the mod, or a comparable option, shouldn't be permanently implemented in the game. But with the restriction to PvE servers or solo games, so that there is equal opportunity on PvP servers.

This is completely untrue. I play Valheim, which has 3rd person by default and 100x the assets in lighting and textures, and I play it on my notebook on 100% everything high, and it's gorgeous. my notebook is a 6 core with a mobile GPU (GT 1650 4GB ram). SO yeah. your opinion isn't exactly accurate. :) Cheers.
