help!! How to use books in the research desk?

Hi everyone. I have a problem with the books in the research desk. When I go to the table and click on the book, it doesn't search for anything. The search button remain dark

If you have a book for the Research Desk, make sure it's in your inventory, go to the Research Desk interface and look for a square that's highlighted with yellow border. Click it and press the button at the bottom to "Learn" it.
The book should disappear.

If you already have the Recipe, it won't show anything, doublecheck to make sure you don't have it.

If you got the book from Dunley Farms region, you can't use it on the Research Desk, you must unlock the Study. In that case put the book in a chest and continue your progress til you unlock the Study.

Already done, but even clicking it doesn't search for anything

It should be obvious how it works, so you are probably doing something wrong.

Maybe you have already researched what that book can search? Maybe you have a book for something other than the research desk, because there are 3 types of research desks.

found out that if you changed your control bindings it wont apply to the research desk and will still use left click to work even tho it will say to use a different binding like for me it told me to right click it but i found out that when i left clicked it it would work
