... well, he already has been, many, many times. I think he's a cool boss, but I just can't handle him and the barrels at the same time. I've watched videos, I come prepared with blood and potions, I know what I SHOULD do, but it never goes to plan. Ugh. So depressing.

Currently playing on official PVE server with standard settings.

he's rough if you don't know how to deal with him, but his main thing is just the barrels, if you can destroy 1 barrel in each line? He's basically done.

Are you staying too close to him? I found that Reaper E and Pistols work best against him, because that way he never does any of his sword attacks and likewise, if you have Pistols, you can shoot a barrel from the right distance.
Normally at that appropriate level, you'd want to have Bolts to deal with those.

basically, keep at mid-long range from him and clear just 1 barrel in each line, there can be up to 3 barrel lines coming in a row.

As you noted, the barrels are the problem, so just focus your build on destroying them. If you're having trouble hitting the timing for melee attacks, why not try ranged attacks? Certain spells, like Ice Bat and Aftershock are quite good at destroying them, or you could try the Bow or Pistol weapons.

i believe reaper q cannot 1 shot the barrels in gear 68?

He does 3 cycles of barrels. Use your cooldowns to destroy and dash through them. That leaves you with 2/5 cooldowns to damage the boss. Better yet you can do damage while also breaking a barrel. Until you get to the final phase, your main focus should be barrels because he doesn't have any actual dangerous attacks.

Yes, you are right. I've used the pistols. I'm not good with them, but they do seem like a good weapon for this fight. Part of my problem is there is so much going on, but my bigger problem is I have a lag problem which makes my fights much harder than they need to be.

You will straight up not be able to beat the last 2 bosses if you have trouble with the Baron.

use hte pistols and shoot the barrels as they spawn,only need to take down 1. . eep distance and use magic on him for dps. just dont get close or try and dismiss the barrels, have all day for the fight no adds and inside take it slow hes not a dps rush. also if you get a bad pull just run outside and he resets. blood mend and go again i used some crappy scholar blood like 40 percent or something first time i killed him.

Chaos dash helps too, esp with the double barrel wave. It's definitely one of those bosses that a slower and safer approach is better. Compared to like Balaton where there is definitely a burn phase.

I didn't find this boss too bad. Think I downed him on my second attempt. Key is to concentrate on avoiding the barrels, like H says, use Chaos Dash for moments when you can't avoid the barrels at all. Instead of trying to destroy the barrels, simply time your movement to avoid them (there's usually gaps you can move through). Use a blood type that increases your movement speed - I find Rogue blood most useful as it gives damage buffs and movement speed buffs. Use the crossbow's rain of bolts on the boss whenever you get a second to fire. Uses spells on him when you have LoS and a free moment to fire.

Like others say, this is a slow burn fight, no rush to burn him down, just avoid the barrels.

Sickle is good with the Q and E doing enough damage to clear barrels. Dash for when you need it. I just used the Corrupted Skull and Death Knight to summon guys keeping him busy while I dealt with the barrels. Took a few tries.

I found him to be very easy actually. I downed him on my second try because at first i didnt know what to expect. Just use phantom aegis for if you cant dodge a barrel, and use a ranged spell that hits the ground like void or that unholy warrior spawn. And use the double dash from the chaos tree to dodge 2 rows of barrels. No need to focus on destroying barrels imo.

Crossbow and Greatsword can one-shot incoming barrels giving you less to worry about.

Crossbow is especially nice since it can snipe barrels without you have to wait until they are imminently in your face, first.
