and yes, I hate it.
And yeah for the record I agree that you should be able to move servants between castles, or to "ship" items between castles.
I actually tried to claim 2 side by side territories and build into them, but it won't even let you connect them with path or stairs, even if you own both and it's technically a valid move.
You can technically move stuff it'll just take time. You have to build a chest, move stuff from the old chest to the new one, then dismantle and rebuild the newly empty chest.
Like someone else said though, if you have servants they will die because you cannot move them between castles. Luckily not the case with prisoners though since you can "Subdue" them again.
As another note, you will need to re-upgrade your new Castle heart if you had the old one upgraded. Dismantling the old one will not refund upgrade materials, only the cost of the heart itself.. Learned that the hard way when I moved a castle too.
Good tip, if you're moving between long distances, build a teleporter at both castles, then move the chest contents, chests, and furniture bit by bit through dismantle/rebuild tactic. Then slowly dismantle the castle, the teleporter, and heart last. Saves running time.
i do plan on having a castle on both sides of the map for easy fast travel and quick crafting, i am super happy my prisoners don't die since i have a few natural %100 bloods and some higher %90's but i have done the big move and am now just sorting out the furniture but i'm upset at losing my thralls since they where really high base stats due to not knowing i could have prisoners but since i'm over half way through the bosses i'm sure i'll find some good ones to turn.
Servants, however, are stuck in that location. There is no way to take them with you to a new location which seems like a huge oversight to me.
That's not moving "servants" that is moving prisoners and then turning them into servants. You still lose your original servants.
If you examine the current situation with castle management, it appears that managing multiple castles is not the intended gameplay here, and that they've primarily focused their dev work on features enabling you to manage a single castle effectively. Will that be expanded on? I believe it will, and that it's a natural way to build out the game and improve player QoL, both of which they've demonstrated their desire to do in the Gloomrot update in many other areas. But again we haven't heard anything concrete from them.
