Agree, but for more than just exclusively paper and books. Game needs a mechanic than can permanently remove any item from the game. Many games like this have similar mechanics.

seems like this devourer upgrade would make everything deconstructable while even adding a passive bonus to the player, based on the amount of items that were deconstructed.

I am lucky in the sense that every time I hit end-game I arbitrarily decide that a giant ass library is my desired home so I've got 100s of bookshelves and not enough books to fill them.

Needless to say that I agree, being able to delete items would be handy sometimes but I guess that tossing them on the ground and walking away does do that... IDK.

Only current way to do this (iirc) is to use the Janitor mod, it automatically deletes things on the ground in certain intervals and I believe can be activated at any time with chat commands. :/ I wish there was something more official but eh the game's not out yet and it looks like they still having things way higher in priority looking at the feedback list.
