Report a translation problem
First, when typing/creating the bind string, you need to spell out "Shift", "CTRL", or "ALT", not just hold down the respective key hoping it works...
Secondly, you need to make sure that the key you're trying to bind to doesn't already have another command bound to it in the settings menu. PS - The number pad numbers do not work.
Thirdly, you need to spell out the full word for each key... i.e. PageUp, PageDown (vs. PgUp, PgDn). I had most success with "delete", "insert", "home", "end", "pageup", "pagedown".

Same principle for making keybinds for other commands.
