Why i can’t join my friend server through steam friend?

Not only me but all of my friend also can’t join a server even we create a new one. We normally can’t join server in game but join through steam friend list. Then around end of January we can’t join a server at all even on my old server or creating a new one. I still wanna play this game so please SEND HELP!!

Did you try to invite your friend through the steam overlay? That worked for us.

I've also started to have this problem recently. I've never been able to join a game using the 'continue' button, so always joined using the steam friend menu. Getting invited in allowed me to work around this issue, but it would be nice to have it fixed.

Same issue as OP. Friends & family unable to join a private hosted game via Steam or otherwise.

I have similar problem - cannot join game via steam friends menu; receiving info “cannot join the server, app ID given by server is incorrect (translated from other language, so English text might be a bit different). Anyone know what might cause the problem? Other players have no problem with joining game; I have to wait for invitation.

Use the Load Game option instead of Continue. On the bottom portion of the screen, it shows recently played servers. It does try to run a refresh sequence one time when entering the Load Game screen. You will want to make sure the host has the server loaded up 100% before trying to join. Selecting the Refresh button when the server is fully loaded should allow it to show up.

Start Game > Load Game

Adjust Date & Time Settings :

In many Peer-To-Peer network games, players can't join each other due to system date and time being out of sync.

Right-Click The Clock On The Right Side Of Your Taskbar > Adjust Date & Time >
Option A : Set Date & Time Manually
Option B : Sync Now

Concurrent Players :

If you are the host of the server, you'll want to find the setting for Concurrent Players and set it to the number of players you'd like to join. This only has to be done once unless you plan on removing or adding players later.

Start Game > Load Game > Under Local Saves - Select Your Server Name >
Change Max Concurrent Players To The Number Of Players You'd Like To Join

Make sure LAN is disabled.

Main problem: I do not have "load/continue". I simply have "play" and then possibility of chosing type of game. And thats all.

The load game option should appear after you create your first server and save when exiting. But that's up to you if you want to do it that way. And you may have to play on your friends server once for it to show up in the recently played servers list. Or it may already have it registered.
