At least it looks nice.
Still not, with 9 you would need 242.000 logs to make enough sawdust to make 100 schematics. I mean jesus christ, they didn't think this one through. I have this feeling someone over there thought you needed 1 schematic or something for a new recipe, 2420 logs could be worth it then, but no, we have this useless crap.
Because they didn't think this through for more then 20 seconds.
I mean it make sense if you couldnt find the things.
Like for example if only paper dropped and you had to make scrolls and schematics. But they would still need to heavily buff the paper press, esp the recipes. Currently they are just completely useless.
It's an early access balance pass of a high-tier tech that probably only a minority of players are going to interact with. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they put some random numbers in and didn't playtest it internally, or haven't looked at playtest feedback, or have looked at playtest feedback and haven't pushed the changes out to live.
If this game had been out of early access for a year or more and this unrealistic cost tuning was still there, yeah, that'd be dopey.
I cant tell if you're being sarcastic or actually giving them an excuse?

This is true. It looks nice in a room full of books and a study.
It's not unheard of for full release crafting games to have this exorbitant of a crafting cost on top tier items. My biggest issue with it was that as soon as I was to the point where I had enough material to make it, Paper was obsolete. Then once I had the mats to make scrolls, scrolls are now obsolete.
If they don't lower the entry/cost barrier for the press then the only thing it's good for is scenery. Hopefully that's what they're using early access for. Identifying their misses.
