Lost interest
I've tried several times to play through the game. But the cooldowns are just too aggravating. It starts out easy, you and pretty much blow through every boss in Farebane without any problems. And then you hit a brick wall where no matter how good you are it doesn't matter because your ability cooldowns take so long that all your abilities are useless, and if you are not putting out enough damage and have enough armor to tank all the enemies, you are dead. Around level 60 or so it starts to balance out again and there are a few boss fights that require skill and well timed abilities. And then you hit a brick wall again. You will go into a boss fight, use an ability, the boss attacks, you dash out of the way and hit your arrow rain. Follow up with another ability. The boss hits you with 3 more of their own. You try to dash... 8... 7... hit 3 more times 6... 5... hit 3 more times. Start spamming every button you have. 12... 11... hit 3 more times. All you can do is just stand there completely helpless while everything is on cooldown. I have no interest in playing a game where the entire combat system is useless because the cooldowns are so long that it renders you a sitting duck for 90% of the fight.

Obviously it is possible to beat every boss with the existing gear/abilities, skill, luck and time but that doesn't make it "fun."
By using cheesy tactics like trapping them behind something, or attacking from a position where they can't get to you. Or worse using glitches and bugs. And i'm not against using glitches and bugs in games in general, but it should not be a requirement to beat a boss.
it is not? the ♥♥♥♥ are you smoking lol

Find a scholar, or anyone with Scholar blood. If it helps, the actual Scholar npcs patrolling through Dunley and Silverlight don't fight back. Scholar blood is the best blood imo. It gives spells some leech, so you can heal off hitting powerful blows like with Chaos magic. It reduces the cooldown time on spells. If you manage to find really good scholar blood, it has a chance to just not activate the cooldown on your spells, so you can cast the same spell twice.

Otherwise, try Rogue blood. Really good rogue blood will give your travel skill reduced cooldown time, so you can dash out of trouble more often.

Other than that, try learning some positioning. It's the way that everyone beats this game without exception. You need to be good at positioning to get hits in and dodge hits. If you can't dodge hits because you're inept, learn which hits are fine to tank, and learn which hits you need to tank.

Take Tristan the Vampire Hunter for example (SPOILER):
He uses a lot of fire. Fire does % damage, and ticks your health bar down quite hard if you don't have fire resistance potions. He also uses a dash and a silver blade (unsure if it does silver damage, but regardless), you're meant to dodge the fire hits above all. His crossbow has fire, he throws fire bombs, and his sword can inflict fire damage with a really easy to dodge attack, simply side step his blade, it goes down straight. You 'can' tank the other hits just fine, to a point.

If this does not help you, at all, and you're waiting for Blood Moons with Scholar V Blood, and you're stuck in Dunley Farmlands on some of the bosses, consider uninstalling the game and re-evaluating your life choices if you wish to claim you're good at games, because you're not. This game is easy, once you learn it, just like every other game.

edit: sidenote, if you're trying to roleplay a character and only use certain abilities, you need to be good at the game too. If you're not, don't try roleplaying, and consider swapping out your spells to help you in certain fights, it's what they're there for.

consider taking some shielding abilities, and rely on a crossbow to deal your damage for you. this is not a catch-all mind you, certain attacks will go right through actual shield spells, but spells that give your healthbar a shield would be good for those hits if you can't dodge them.

The intention of this post is not to insult you (too much) but rather to help you. I would assume you know all of these things mentioned above, but incase you didn't, I outlined the best blood for your issue (scholar) as well as budget blood (rogue) if you can't find scholar blood. It is exceptionally frustrating however, to watch someone who is either inept at video games in general, or just simply does not understand how the game works, complain about the game's mechanics when 'millions' have done it before you, some even less equipped to deal with situations than you are.

says the guy talking about struggling with the PvE in this game???????
the pvp is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tho. taking it seriously is a joke
No. I never said anything about struggling. I said the mechanics are bad and the dev compensates for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight mechanics with even more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stat nerfs and ridiculous cooldowns. And I said the game is riddled with bugs that can cause some bosses to be impossible to kill. And I said the bosses are balanced extremely poorly, making most of them extremely easy while others are damn near impossible with the gear level you unlock them at, unless you use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics to cheese them by trapping them or attacking from a position where they can't reach you.

I talked about problems with the game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ design, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics, and bugs. It's you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who claimed I was bad at the game. The argument is fun though, especially the part where people point out things I did on purpose as evidence of me being bad. Like luring mobs into other mods so I could kill them all together. Like dude I just walked out the tutorial with nothing, killed 50 people and walked away with 90% rogue blood... And you say that's me not knowing how to play? LOL ok dude. Throught that whole video series the only boss that gave me a problem was Frostmaw, and he demonstrates exactly what i'm talking about. No cooldowns, extremely op damage output, massive AOE abilities, and he's so fast that it's laughable. It's not possible to fight him solo at his own level unless you use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mechanics against him, get him trapped somewhere, or use rocks and cliffs to obstruct his movement. Even then it is close to impossible, I had to use multiple potions and i just barely got him. Realistically he should be unlocked more around level 70, not 50. And you know i'm right too. That's why everyone recommends cheesy ♥♥♥♥ mechanics tactics, or leveling up more, or modding damage in the game files to cheat.

'i didnt cry about it being difficult'
literally cried about it being difficult because of mechanics you refuse to play around then somehow in your brain rationalized that as grand justification as opposed to you just sucking ♥♥♥♥. then continued to cry about frostmaw (who genuinely isnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard lmfao) pick some different skills that make the fight easier, get a couple levels ABOVE the boss (crazy concept for a zoomer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that grew up on fortnite instead of actual video games. i know) and shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. you don't even have to do the vbloods in order so this complaint is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke lol.

if you lost interest you wouldnt be typing novels on here. youre ♥♥♥♥ and salty about it. muting thread ♥♥♥♥ off retard

Translation: How dare you complain about legitimate problems with this game?! I'm a mentally retarded emo who has literally attached my self identity to this game so i will defend it to the death no matter how bad it is. You are not allowed to criticize it! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

You said the cooldowns were too long and frustrating for you to stay invested, and from that I would glean you've not finished the game because it's "too hard", but not just too hard for you, too hard in general. Your OP is you crying and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "cuz cooldowns are too long, can't play the game, nuuuh! sitting duck half the time!"

This game does have many legitimate problems, but if you want to focus a thread on those problems, maybe don't open the thread with an OP like THAT. People will take you as someone who doesn't know how to play games, period.

There's a multitude of problems. Scroll and Schematic crafting. Gear levels. Fishing mechanics. Items clipping through objects and not being obtainable. Bosses breaking when a teammate dies and not moving but instead facing your dead teammate 24/7 while you hit them, etc.

The cooldowns are not a problem. If you don't like them, then that's a damn shame.

You don't even know how to craft items and catch fish. And you want to talk about me not knowing how to play the game. Bro you take the sawdust and grass, put it in the paper machine, open a browser tab and search for emo wallpapers. And there are like 2 items that clip through walls. One in Octavian's compound, and one in the Bandit King's. Big deal, so you can't pick up one likely useless drop. Just loot everything else and move on. Fishing is literally the easiest thing in the world, it's basically an idle clicker game. If you can't handle fishing i don't know how you manage to tie your shoes. At least my issues are involving poorly balanced fight mechanics. You are literally complaining that clicking is too hard.

Right, so you are autistic. And you're complaining about the game not allowing your ADHD to cast spells every 2 seconds. Trip and fall, seriously. Peace.

Because the mechanics of the game are designed such that skill does not matter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZE7h_IwzFQ

Lowest GS he can be tracked at: 48.

No tricks, no glitches, no running around rocks, no help from neutral monsters, no blood moon, only 30% blood.

Gear and skills used reviewed at the end of the video.

Played on an official server, so no cheating involved.
This game like many (Elden Ring is a prime example) is about recognizing boss patterns and reacting accordingly. Once you have that down the rest is rather easy as you can better match your response (side step, use a spell, rush in to melee, etc.) to their action.

The only real 'boss cheez' mechanic I personally find annoying is the call-in-reinforcements over and over, but nothing than cannot be overcome.

As an aside I have never found myself 'standing completely helpless' as I can always run around and poke stuff with my pointy things.

And why would you post clips of bosses you can 'beat naked with a dead fish' and not ones that better reflect your original concerns about long skill CDs?

You are either lying or you haven't played the game.
Your abilities have cooldowns. NPCs do not. It is quite common for fire archers to blanket the entire map in fires as far as the eye can see, and you only get 1 dash and 2 other abilities. Once those abilities are gone, you are stuck in slow motion with no way of fighting back. And you cannot chase them since they are faster than you and the won't stop moving until you stop chasing. And that's just the normal fire archers, boss mechanics later in the game are far more cheep and nasty. They will hit you with 5 stuns back to back+disables and then never-ending AOEs that cover the entire arena and even extend far outside the arena.

So how can you claim you have never been disabled? You have never _not_ had dash at the ready, you have never had your abilities all on cooldown? You can always run around and poke things? Not when all the enemies are faster than you, and they don't have to worry about cooldowns, and they can hit you with slows, stuns, and disables. You must be playing Mario Party.

I posted video of basically all my gameplay aside from some boring farming/building parts, up until that server was shutdown.

Is Frostmaw still the benchmark? Here's a video 20 GS lower, all melee, official server.

Watch them cooldowns.

Yeah I already know how people do that, plenty of people have already told me. They go into the game files and increase their damage or reduce the bosses damage.
