Changing difficulty?
So.. I'm finding the game a bit too hard when fighting multiple mobs, is there any way to change the difficulty on a Private PvE server that I've made?

Or do I have to start over again? :(

You can make changes to your ServerGameSettings file in your server's save folder.
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves\v1\

Uhh.... I have Steam installed somewhere else other than on C:

Does that matter?

I don't think so. Pretty sure my Steam isn't on my C drive either.

Oh ok. My game is installed on a second drive called Data (D:), and the 'path' to the game looks like this:
This PC/D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/VRising

It looks like there's two folders named VRising_Data and VRising_Server.

Not sure which one has my save files.

Look at the path Suzaku gave you. Your private server is not in documents, not where the game is installed. It is in Appdata on C.

(Specifically a folder with a generated combination of letters and numbers in the v1 folder, and then you open up ServerGameSettings.json)

Ok, I managed to find my save files. Apparently LocalLow only came up when I searched for it, instead of just clicking through the files myself

This is what the SeverGameSetting JSON looks like. How can I make my server's difficulty easier?

Youll need to add these lines within the brackets to increase/decrease mob health and damage. Located on your first picture underneath "VampireStatModifiers": {},

"UnitStatModifiers_Global": {
"MaxHealthModifier": 2.0,
"PowerModifier": 2.0
},
"UnitStatModifiers_VBlood": {
"MaxHealthModifier": 2.0,
"PowerModifier": 2.0
},

So mine are all 2x health and damage. So if you want it easier than vanilla youd have to make those values... <1.0

Have fun!

Nope. There is nothing Steam-specific in that path. It's your standard AppData folder for Windows. So assuming Windows is installed on your C: drive, the above path will be correct.

Thank you, this helped me a lot.

Another question, is there any way to adjust the amount of border tiles you can have for your castle?

Note that difficulty changes after you start your save may not retroactively affect creatures - if they were spawned in with the old settings, they still seem to use the old settings. When they're freshly spawned in they use the new settings.

Yea it seems with further testing you have to kill or the mobs have to die to have settings take effect.

click load the game and there you can adjust the difficulty and other settings regarding teleportation of the number of building limits and other things
