Research Desk and Brew of Ferocity

I have the Brew of Ferocity in book form. I brought it to the research desk and clicked "research," but nothing has unlocked.

Has anyone else had this problem? I waited a while and nothing happened. My other books have worked.

I have had that happen with a different book, it was a furniture piece though. The outline around the still locked recipe even showed up but it would not allow me to use the book.
