Is there a way to salvage a save game

So I just started playing this game and having quite a few crashing issues.
That was kinda okay since it seems to autosave progress.

Now after my last game crash, when I try to rejoin my last local single player session I get a server error.
Can't get the game to load the save anymore.
Is there a way to at least salvage my unlocked stuff for a new game, like spells and powers and such?

I'm really not into regrinding all that stuff again. It was just 4 hours but I hate repeating content and it was already very slow and mostly running. :/

You can try to get back to the last working auto save file. There is a folder where all of them are stored. But constantly crashing would produce those issues again and again so I suggest to solve that first.

Go into your save game folder and delete the last Autosave_#. My most recent save got corrupted by a power outage and I couldnt load back in. I only lost 10 minutes of game time.

How do I determine which is the last?
I was looking through \AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves\v1\ and removed a couple... Most folders are just empty. All I now have is server timeouts.

Is there maybe a manual way to save the game too? So I know when I saved last and could even make a backup of it?

Just tried game out for first time and got server error when trying to do private game. That's not a good start for me lol.

Yeah I restarted my game just to have it crash and delete another hour too. :(
I'll wait until it's stable I guess...

Likewise, I'll probably buy it after some time has passed. Right now, it's not worth me risking constant server errors before 2-hours mark. Likely would have corrupted saves myself.

Good advice. OP: do this. Copy an old autosave into your latest one. Or just start a new server copy an old autosave into the latest save (which should be autosave 0 or similar). You have twenty auto saves so most should work.

Don't remove anything, it'll stop working and give you server timeouts. And now you need to start a new server. Just copy an old save into your latest one (i.e. the one with the most recent time) and it'll be fine. As for saving a game, just exit the game, find the latest one and copy it somewhere else and there's your save.

simple disable cloud share from time to time, then u create a savegame on ur hard disk, butdon'tt forget to do it ^^
and don't forget to enable it back then so u have 2copies.

so in a moment, if the cloud saves fails u can always go back to the saved game without doing anything more than disabling cloud share...

after u played and moment and saved the game enable cloud back and update with the last save u have played.. viola...

ps: regrinding 4h ist nothing, some people loose rare drops, and days if not weeks and months...

Thanks for the tips, I hope I won't need them when I try it out again. :)
As for "4 hours is nothing", for me that is 4 hours of my time wasted and another 4 hours doing the same thing I did before if I want to reach that again, so basically 8 hours wasted. Not really a great thing in my opinion.

I had the Uknown Server Status when my game crashed when exiting. There is an autosave every 10 minutes and when you leave the game. Removing the last save didn't work, so, investigating a bit I found out it was something about the server settings getting corrupted (not the save file) and all I had to do is delete the ServerHostSettings.json from my folder. (I actually moved out in case it didn't work.). Note, my private server was default from the beggining.

This solved my issue I was able to continue my 12 hours game. The only thing that changed was the actual name of the server, which changed to "V Rising Server".
