Rust is a elder's home for aged and bored CS players. You may as well say CS live from PVP. And yer, dooh. V Rising is a very different game.
Valheim and V rising have far greater PVE potential while Rust is just another shooter. What you do in PVE besides what the game ask of you is entirely up to your imagination. Clearly V Rising is very much meant for building/stylists, just like Valheim is with construction.
People storm through the game, kill last boss and claim there is no content. While they probably haven't even experienced half the content, because the only content for these crybabies is whatever is higher level than they currently are.
I'll add Lost Ark to this pool of games. Another game that's clearly not meant for PVP, but of course. Devs try to cater to everyone, PVE or PVP. That shouldn't disable our senses for a good PVP game. Also clearly, neither V Rising or Lost ark is any good PVP game. How about using those senses? People even say New World died because of PVE player surge.
Majority of players ignore/abandon PVP in games like these. Most people just want to PVE in peace with maybe optional PVP.
Rust and the concept V rising build upon is for a niche type of players. Mostly hardcore players with tight knit clans pretending to be superior over raiding a million lone travelers bases.
Good thing with rust is that such people/clans can go against each other. If only they did, instead of playing raiding tourists on any server they can to make the life of PVE players miserable forcing them to switch server by resetting ther progress.
PVP is dead besides wherever the PVP crowd decide to gather and that's never together because a fair fight is completely out of the question.
Even seen in Rust where half the players stay out of your way, act friendly or just completely ignore you going about ther PVE objective.
I'll turn this around and say PVP hype and heavy catering to PVP from the devs killed New World.
None is interested.
Of course this is a very popular onion on this platform.
Wouldn't surprise me if ALL PVP games have declining "player"base.
Good PVP is 1/10000 excluding duels.
Both devs and veteran PVP'ers need to seriously act up. Only one part would ever, the devs. And I have yet to see any sign that they will come to ther senses with simple mechanics such as disabled engagement if level/gear difference is to high, which shouldn't be any more than a level or two or a gear piece or two.
"Like using your own garden as toilet and then complain there's sewer smell all over your property"
Imagine balanced PVP. I know it's hard, but I also know you can.
