also want to add the recipe shows plant fiber 0 leather 0 to make a canteen? does that even make sense? I think there was a coding error in the single player side of the game.

having the same issue playing solo can't make pristine leather because empty canteens won't stop and shows 0 0 as well

Theres a workaround. Some mobs drop Pristine Leather. You can farm that until they fix it, because this is a bug. I have been able to make them before, and the cost being "0,0" is not normal.

Also, incase you didnt know. You can pick the recipe you want it to make by clicking it in the window. Whatever you highlight will be made (If theres resources to make it. If not, then it'll just make whatever it has resources for.)

CNR on my save. Have you adjusted the resource requirements in your settings? That you say it's showing 0 required implies you have, and as a result, it's always making that recipe, since it requires no mats.

I will give this a try the Pristeen Leather has me basically stuck atm.

just tested does not work it will not let me select that recipe the canteen only stays highlighted even though the station is filled with nothing but mats for pristeen leather.

So, right now the adjusted crafting costs server setting is bugged. If you set crafting costs to 0, it will make all of the things you can craft in the tab menu free, but won't apply that setting to any crafting stations. Kind of annoying but whatever.

HOWEVER, one of the things you can craft in the tab menu is the empty leather canteen. Since that recipe is free, the tanning station always thinks it has enough materials to make them and thus will always be canteening.

I assume this is also a bug, as the tanning station should listen to the refining cost server setting, which is also bugged and just doesn't work, but the minimum you can attempt to set it at is 0.1, presumably to prevent auto-refining like what's being seen here.

If you're on a solo game you can go into the server settings JSON in the save folder, and then reset the crafting cost value to something higher than 0.

Found the Issue and fixed it here is how.

GameServerSettings.Jrsn file opened it in Notepad ++

Edited this line:
"RecipeCostModifier": 0.0,

to this:
"RecipeCostModifier": 0.1,

Now water canteens have a resource cost other than 0 and 0.

What's to fix? You modified things so there's no material cost, so it keeps making it. It's functioning as designed.

It obviously shouldnt remove the ability to craft anything, but water-canteens, at the tannery station. Seems like it would be a simple fix for the devs, to make. To say its working as intended, is pedantic nonsense.

"Fixing" this "issue" (that, again, isn't a bug; it's a result of you modifying things so there's no material cost to craft) would requiring either completely scrapping the passive crafting system used by the tannery, mill, etc. It's an edge-case that results from functionally turning game mechanics off entirely. There's nothing to fix, nothing is working incorrectly. Set reasonable settings and it works fine. May as well divide by zero then complain things break...
