Killed by...something after alpha wolf boss

I had a really confusing encounter with the alpha wolf and I am wondering if you all could help me figure out what happened. I had just finished fighting the alpha wolf, and I was drinking its blood. I heard a voice yell something at me and what appeared to be a woman with a bow(I think) attacked and killed me. When I went back for my body, there was nothing around.

Is this a rare spawn or boss? What was it?

Sounds like Lydia the Chaos Archer. She likes to roam the roads as well. All bosses in the game aren't random, but some do patrol around the map.

Does she roam close to the Alpha Wolf?

Are you saying your body wasn't there either or are you saying the thing that killed you wasn't? If your body wasn't there, then I don't know what to tell you.

The map is static, and mobs are spawned in certain locations. Some bosses stay in a single small area or even at a singular point; others patrol larger areas along the roads. It's part of why the game gives you a blood altar; to track moving targets when you don't know the exact location of some bosses.

Tristan, alpha wolf, Gorehowl(?) and Lydia all roam around the starter area. Tristan being the only really dangerous one for lower levels since he's 48.

I have actually seen Lydia fighting the wolf a dozen or do times (she always wins) so yes her path eventually crosses his.

Goreswine the Ravager. And Tristan is 46.

There are several alpha wolf locations and a lot of roaming bosses. But it was most likely Lydia the Chaos Archer or Goreswine the Ravager.
I've had Alpha wolfs get involved when fighting both of them at times.

seen videos and streams of him out of the big graveyard.
so it seems he does leave and wander the roads sometimes.

I have killed him several times he actually pats fairly far from the graveyard.. he heads south on the road when he leaves.
