Go to temples/religious locations, you'll see like nuns, spiritual people. There are none till the second zone.
Spell power is the best stat, because it directly influences all spells and ultimates, even non-damage ones. With 75 spell power you can have 150 shield for example, which is a game changer.
It is possibly to overcome bosses with melee builds, but that is much more skill-intensive and risky because of limited sustain, even those builds have to crutch upon Sanguine Coil. Also there's a number of bosses that are devastating or barely possibly to engage at melee range.
Well yea, it's the safest way to play. Most bosses if you try melee you get face rolled if you make 1 or 2 mistakes.. I much prefer ranged approach.. which is nice because the game gives us different ways to play.
Well, kiting is ridiculously good. Melee never felt rewarded for the increased risk. Ranged combat seemed like more damage done safer.
Each boss has different mechanics. You'll notice that some bosses are weirdly more difficult than others. That happens when you are using the wrong strategy.
Christina is a boss many people have issues with. It's because they are trying to kite a boss that is stronger in range than melee. Get in her face next time and watch her fold like a lawn chair.
Try meleeing Winged Horror and Solarus. There are videos of people succeeding, but it's not pretty and extremely long, the Angel in particular likes to fly out of the arena with her charges.
In the meantime I've solo'd Solarus with 95% Scholar blood (had plenty of 100% in stock as well, but I wanted to see what the margin for error was), and turns out it's massive - I never fell below the threshold where I could always just heal back to full HP.
