You call it luck I call it landing most of my amplifies, turns out gorecrusher really loves those...
Funny enough on my most recent run I only had to slot shields for Tristan&Solarus for the rest of the bosses i was happy enough to trade defense for dmg(well mostly as scholar blood does offer decent life leech rewards for big dmg)
If the golem starts to run at you, just run away in circles not to lose aggro from Tristan and let them damage each other while poking as much with the crossbow on him.
For the leaping stab, you just need to identify the farthest range he does it at; that's the danger zone. Either stay closer than that, where you can walk-dodge the fire sword, strafe the jumping stab, and dash/counter the blue AoE sword, or stay farther away than that, and only use spells. He prioritizes this attack, so if you go from long range to mid range, you can expect him to do this immediately.
For the fire bomb, just dash far away. Tristan has a long leash range, so you can simply choose not to engage him wherever the fire is. Then the only tricky part is making sure you don't get hit in the initial fire explosion. For that, you should watch which direction Tristan is throwing the firebomb, and basically dash the other way. You might get tagged a couple times by fire-DOT, but as long as you're not taking heavy hits elsewhere, that won't lose you the fight.
Ideal skills are Clive's chaos dash to cover the most ground, and Lydia's Chaos Volley, to deal strong damage from long range. The barrier/counter doesn't really matter (unless you have energy surge, which you should definitely use to counter fire).
I wouldn't recommend Spear for Tristan, but most weapons are good. Iron+ axes are probably ideal, to wipe out wandering adds, deal consistent range damage with E, and assist anti-fire movement with Q.
Hes kind of a meme with his own fire too, he tries to avoid it. Most the time hes hitting your skeleton or trying to catch you doing this.
GoodLuck
Edit: Can swap reaper (e) for its ranged abil or just stay in xbow if youre not comfortable weapon swapping.
Edit2: He also attacks your dash image too, if your skeleton is dead he will use an ability on it.
Chaos dash is pretty crappy here, it does aoe damage which you dont need, nor does Tristan launch any flurry of attacks to multiple dodge.
Blood dash requires getting in mele to be worth it, if you take more damage than you heal or you are using it to escape it's not a good idea either.
Decide on what you are blocking with the shield, dont use it randomly to generate skeltons. Only jump and blue sword attack are worthy of using shield on, save the cooldown for those. Crimson aegis wont negate the attack but that does not mean it's not a good shield ability too.
Use a mace. Q is a free teleport (long enough to get you out of bomb or blue attack range). If you are quick, E can be counter most of his attacks too (also useful for any mobs that come join the fight).
Lastly you dont need any fancy blood, potions (exept for fire but that does not drop at your level) or similar buffs. ~30% creature blood, good strategy and you are set. It's all about practice and being lucky a bit.
staying in close and blocking the blue sword and doddging the red one works fine till something gets in the way.
But seriousy. Ive wasted 20 iron repairing my gear, and a stack of potions. If i kite him to far he resets. i dont usually have the bestblood type. but im about ready to give up theres only one more piece of gear i can unlock i cant find any damn nuns im jhust.
Yeah the bomb throwing sucks too. its bad
You can circle-strafe him infinitely and he has nothing except blue swing that can catch up, but any Shield ability can block that.
If you use 2 mobility skills: Space and either Axes Q or Slashers E you can dodge bombs with ease.
Bombs do not even matter as fire can't kill you.
Lol if you tell me the server, and provide me gear, i'll come kick his ass for you. In the same hand, that doesn't really help you much.
I can help if you want, duo should be quite a bit easier, even with only basic skills. Iron mace and scourge pendant with some rags should be enough.
avoid dmg with the avaivable cooldowns, use ward of the damned and that healing shot, or another ward, and sword or slashers. if his sword dash is dangerous to you, you need to block it specifically with the ward or dodge it with the space ability. slashers give you a moment to breathe and recharge cooldowns, if you use the stealth, and also u can use the first ability to dodge or reach (dont think it has any iframes tho). swords help you avoid dmg if you trigger the second ability with good timing(first is dangerous vs him tho, but good dmg, and u can cancel it by dashing or warding). aaaaalways keep an eye on the dash cooldown, especially once he starts throwing firebombs u might need it, tho best is to turn invisible when u see him start that animation and just keep walking in another direction. i´d actually advise against hiding behind trees, cause you need to see the guy to avoid him, theres nothing like hiding in a tight spot to get fed a firebomb. and well, same as in the souls games: dont be greedy, avoiding damage is more important than dealing it, find the right moments to deal damage without taking it in return- u cant just trade damage with him.
any dash skill will leave a hologram by the way, which will be targeted until it disappears- which is the reason i like to dash through enemies to attack them from behind, or use the moment to fire an hp drain spell or even risk drinking a potion. that basically also means u can dash sooner then the instinct sais, cause enemies will target the hologram instead. bring healing salve, drink brute or scholar blood.
well and nuns and such are only at churches and monasteries, u wont find a nun in a bandit camp or with soldiers. but u can just use brute if u cant get it.
