How do i kill Frostmaw? Kinda OP... (Singleplayer)

So, i'm level 53, i got a 100% Rogue Blood in my cell
and i use both spell and attack potions, and i can't kill Frostmaw.

Also, he tends to run away from combat all the time,
and by doing so, he regenerates to full health,
even though i fight him where i engaged it.
Be it the road or an open area...

So, any advice how to kill him? I've tried 5 times already...

He is very hard if you are at a lower level. Try different ways (weapons, spells, attack him if he is in combat with other monster, use different ultis, try find a Scholar 100% (this is very epic) Bloodtype.

shield abilites help. the shield that summons a skeleton is helpful on most bosses that don't summon adds thanks to it being a distraction and can take a couple of hits.

you generally want to be the same lv or higher than the v blood boss you are going for. so you may need to farm for recipes or scrolls to unlock the best version of the weapons/armor you are in.

I personally alsways used Scholar blood and a combo of Pestilence, for the +25% dmg, and Chaos Volley. But it can be kinda difficult, cause that's high risk, high reward. Went for him quite reckless.

Also as my preposter mentioned: He is really tough if you're on a lower level than he is. Would be better to get your level a bit higher.

I found the Scholar 90% and the Alpha Wolf killed it near my base...

But how do i keep him in the area?
He tends to lose agro and just goes off...

Is that some kind of a bug?

you keep walking away from him, that's why he loses aggro.

Again, i'm alaways at the area where i found him, be it the road or the open area.
I usually just go up and down, to keep him at bay.
It actually looks like he's getting bored and just walks away lol

Going up and down probably breaks his aggro, stay same elevation

okay so i just beaten him today after complaining about him 2 days ago, so you want a Ward for that triple ice spam attack and the chaos dash so you can kite him around, then get like a good damage spell, i just bone ward because that drops aggro from me so i've got time to heal or reposition. you want either a bow or the reaper as your main weapons of choice

There are a few potential other mobs on his patrol route that could help too. I once fought him while he was being attacked by a treant, which did some pretty good damage to the boss.

To add to advice above, it's worth remembering the spear gives +25% damage against creatures and is good for 1 v 1 fights (less effective against multiple enemies though).

Don't know if Frostmaw is classed as a creature being a V-Blood but might be worth checking the DPS by switching weapons.

Guess we all have a 'favorite' boss that can mop the floor with use while others based upon our weapon&spell selection choice are just brutally dispatched... for me the worst ones to face are Tristan&Foulrot while anyone that is either slow or likes to keep theyr distance are easy for me to handle a quick example being an encounter with Jade having 5 levels above me and she still bit the dust in the end with me having close to half my hp remaining...

This is a meme build but it works, just to give you some ideas.

Chaos shield, Unded Shield and Reaper. Machinegun his face with chaos shield, then spawn 3-4 skeles so he leaves you alone for enough time to reset his ranged attack CD, throw reaper E when clear of danger. Dont panic when he brings storm, just walk around calmly around mines and have him in sights (dont run from him) shield whenever he attacks. Leave teleport for his frost beam. If stuff goes wrong remember that teleports leave your clones, dont attack or recast tp as soon as you jump out, let him have some fun with the clone(s) as you get your cd's back.

This way you can fight him all night... which may not be "optimal" but if you struffle just trying it means getting used to his skills, so even if something goes wrong, going back to more dps oriented build will make it easier than before.
