If the devil takes a form of a human why is he still affected by crosses and stuff.

Human form is supposed to be enabler of content not a power up (a minigame i'd say even). It does have only narrow usage yeah, but we are in EA after all.

ps: Tbh the idea of human form protecting from sun is decent, even if lore unfriendly. I'm pretty sure it was tested internally at some point, but just did not work well. Being binary either useless or the best way to go vs sun.

Most vampire fiction includes clothing not protecting them from sunlight. It's not 'right' or 'wrong' and it's in keeping with most vampire fiction conventions.

And honestly I don't think it matters much either way. Sunlight really isn't such a big problem, especially if you're in human form in a town/village and can easily move from shadow to shadow. And it's too slow to be useful for traveling long distances across country.

Bear form gives protection from sunlight

What I really have issue with is the trading mechanic in general. All the traders (except maybe one I think) wander around. You have no way of knowing where they are, and you have no way to be ready to run into them. Then when you find one, you have to scramble back to your castle, grab what silver coins you've managed to collect, and hope you can get back to the wandering trader while carrying your silver coins so you can trade for a cool hat that requires an excessive amount of coins in the first place, all while having to consume an end-game silver resist pot just to even do so. Seriously, 300 silver coins? That's outrageous.

I can totally agree with this issue, so let me add my 2 cents. The purpose of trading is to acquire goods that you need and cannot be bothered hunting for. Some worthless hats and common potions don't cut it. Why bother looking for a wandering trader, who you may not be able to find, carrying a currency that hurts you, so you can buy a worthless hat or potion that you can craft yourself in under 5 minutes of farming?

Granted that the human form is VERY useful, you can sneak away from enemies or sneak up to them. Killing that one fire archer near the back before the melee has a chance to hit you is extremely handy.

The only trader really worth trading with is the stationary one in the town because he has end-game pots, but by the time you get around to doing that, like you said, you can craft those yourself. The amount of coins you have to carry to get anything of any value from the traders is counter-intuitive and restrictive. You can't transform into a bat while carrying silver coins, so you have to go on foot, and don't even bother if you don't have the top tier silver resist pot unlocked. If the hats were not inherently worthless and didn't drop on death, that would be a really nice touch. They could have at least put one friendly trader in the game that doesn't go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on you that spawns at random but set points on the map and also stays still in those spots for a set amount of days, and his inventory changes every time he moves to a new spot. Or just having some currency that isn't literally only silver. Surely these humans have copper coins or something???? Then just have silver coins be the "rare currency" that you can use to get the really good stuff. Imagine how much of a difference something like that would make.

My head cannon is it's just an illusion since you're not actually a human and there isn't anything but base line social capital to extract from such a form rather than something more tangible like the weight of a bear, wolf speed, or bat flight.
You're still the vampire underneath despite the forms so the sun will cook the ♥♥♥♥ out of you regardless.
Yeah the base human design is annoying with it looking like you're in a cloak and all that.
But it's not much to navigate with and you'll only really use human form in the mid game when you don't feel like dealing with some stationed enemies you see from a distance the rat or horse can't quite get by.
At first I thought it was missed opportunity for a more of an open RP focus but this is a survival game.
Something like that would just bog the survival half of the game down more than anything. Plus it's more fun at least for me to just immerse yourself into the role the game gives you.

You're a bitter vampire and you want to throw hands to reclaim the mobile game ad level 81 vampire royalty mafia boss protagonist status you and your fellow vampires held a hundred years ago all the while terrorizing the feudal working class for your morally bankrupt benefit.
I like it a lot!
