bosses running off and healing.
this is just infuriating. I don't know if it's a space thing or they are at their border of their wandering path or something, but freaking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bosses that you fight for 5 minutes straight and get them to about a third, then when you're facing up to them, mid swing they just change their mind, spin around like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ballerina and just piss off into the bush at top speed like a gym bro who's just seen a snake. Then you chase them and find them just wandering down the path like they've never met you in their life and you didn't just murder their 14 closest friends and bodyguards in front of their eyes, but they are full health again and you've got to start the whole fight over.

I'd get it if we ran away and they reset or something, but bosses that, mid fight, just ♥♥♥♥ all the way off and reset themselves can eat my balls.

Not really, not having a reset range would be an issue, having one isn't.

Imagine if a boss could just chase you around the entire map, never resetting even if you didn't want or couldn't fight it yet.

Also, every bossy before the 2~3 endgame zones are very, very easy, the ONLY way to ever get hit by any of their attacks is by messing up and attacking at the wrong time,
Right after I made my post I logged into V Rising, got confronted ... or rather ... Sneaked up on (is a better phrase) by one of the many roaming V Rising bosses. Jade the Vampire Hunter. I'm way too low for her, so I ran. Then I remembered what I said in my post, thinking to myself: It would be pretty bad if the Boss didn't reset after a short period and just kept chasing me, shouting; One Shot, One Kill. (sorry, spoilers). I was thinking of coming back, changing my post, or adding some comments, but then I remembered that I also added the phrase "...regardless of the state of their HP..."

Certainly, certain conditionals would govern whether the Boss reset or not. The state of their HP being one of them. Or, "RECENTLY" taking damage. "Recently" in most games means 4 seconds. but maybe for V Rising Bosses, you know, because you have to run and dodge and dodge and run an awful lot before you can take another shot at them, "Recently" should be something like 8 seconds. maybe 10.

V Rising :steamfacepalm:

and you finally see the problem. you give the boss a leash or you don't.

the first time this happened to me I was like: ehh its annoying but I guess its to prevent cheeses and such and just had to re-strategize everything. and with that I leave this to you:

you either confront the boss or you don't. there's no middle option. there's no fence sitting on this one. stop being Tim Pool.

They should do arena fights with bosses, not stupid wandering. I deleted the game after 1 time mouse was missing when boss was 1% and 3 times running away from me with 4% health or lower. There should be a circle so you know you go to far. This is just hdhdndndndndndnsndnznsnjddnndndndndndndndndndndnd bbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllllkllklkkksshshshzhshzhshiiiiititt

I would quite annoyed if I was V Blood Tracking someone like Christina the Sun Priestess and instead of their normal roads, someone was kiting it up to Leandra the Shadow Priestess to make them fight for a meme. I would like if more bosses did have fighting other factions possibilities but I'd like them to generally be where I expect them to be when I want to attempt one.

SOME boss tokens, continue their node rotation, even if you're fighting the actual boss themselves. If the boss, as a token, gets too far away from their respective node cycle, they will think "Oh, I need to go to 15,21 (or wherever) right now, as I am very far away from it."
This typically happens with "patrol" bosses, such as

Lidia the Chaos Archer,
Tristan the Vampire Hunter,
Meridith the Bright Archer,
Kriig the Undead General.
Simon Belmont,
Gorswine the ravager,
Christina the Sun Priestess,
Jade the vampire hunter,
General Cassius the Betrayer,
Frostmaw the Mountain Terror,

And any others who use node cycles to tell them to go places at certain times.
The trick is to keep them (or at least their individual tokens) on their node cycle, so if you are kiting them, make sure you stay near or on the path they normally would take, during the battle. Otherwise, kill them quickly before their individual placement token is registered as "away" from where they should be. Use the passage of time during the night, to help give yourself a timeframe, as a boss's token will cycle throughout the nodes they are designated to travel to, during the passage of gametime.

EG: Halfway through the third hour, Christina is supposed to leave her temple, and begin her walkabout through the farmlands, which will last the rest of the night, and into a portion of the next day. She will then return to the temple, and remain there until the next night cycle, then replay her route, and use her token to hit the node checkpoints, all over again. If by the ninth hour, she has not reached, or near, the appropriate zoning of node 5 (X,Z)/ Two zones away near the garlic farm, then she will "run to it" as that is where she is supposed to be, in accordance to her cycle.

Meridith the Bright Archer and Kriig the Undead General, use the -exact- same script as Christina, just with different placements and locations. Kriig even gets his own room, that acts as his home node/"temple" near the back of the haunted mines, with Meridith having her Home Node/"Temple" in the front.

The only time I've had issues with leashing is when I've run into bosses with a knock back attack. I feel like they need something in their pathing code that buys you 5 secs to get back in their range before they leash/heal up. So if you strike them again quick enough the fight continues unabated

Only time I've ever had significant problems is Simon Belmont the vampire hunter.

If this is true, this needs to be rectified i m m e d i a t e l y. Especially with Simon Belmont, because his ultimate attack is to literally heal himself a half a bar of health through an unblockable, unstoppable minute and a half crossbeam attack which begins his "Third" phase
Leashing in general is one of the primary reasons why (I believe) the game caters towards duos+

Personally I think this is kind of a big design flaw with the game. Either you have wandering boss enemies or you don't. Punishing the player by having them suddenly run, and rapidly regenerate because the player walked too far while fighting them is really dumb when the boss can wander so far to begin with. And yeah it's worse with certain boss enemies. That one Priestess boss in Dunley farmlands I know is bugged, and will run away from you even if you mostly fight here around where you found her on the road.

in 650 hours I have NEVER had an issue with a boss fleeing when I have kept in mind the POINT in which I engaged them. Simply do not run away and you will be fine.. I have had bosses run away.. and they did so because whoever had aggro ran to far from the point of engagement. It's pretty simple actually. Mind your surroundings.

You just wrote a whole bunch of unnecessary nonsense. No matter where they are when you agro them that is their tether point. if you move to far away from it they will reset to prevent cheese and infinite kiting.

Not really
I tryed the first (wolf) and second (lumber) boss on Brutal last night.
They will randomly break combat while I'm sitting on their engagement point and regen to full life.
You don't have to move away, the "spawn point" is moving itself as if you didn't agro the boss... leading to unwaranted reset in the middle of the fight.

They even both reseted while I was casting a spell and them preapring a strike.
The adds just die immediatly and the combat will reset in mid attack.

The Bosses are Overpowered, Unbalanced and you need to be AI to fight them.

That said, I don't understand why any other poster in this thread wouldn't understand that the "Leash" problem doesn't make sense which adds to the frustration. You have a Boss roaming the map, from one end to the other, but once they are engaged they are given a tiny circle that they have to be kept inside otherwise they instantly reset, regardless of the state of their HP.

Complaining about this is VALID. Even if the Boss is the easiest boss in the world. And absolutely NONE of the V Rising Bosses will ever qualify as "easy" let alone "easiest Boss in the world."

So, please, recognize that this is a valid complaint which the V Rising Devs should address. Giving a Boss a leash area the same size as their roam area isn't going to result in the Boss suddenly becoming super easy as the further you KITE the more likely you will run into random roaming NPCs.

And ... for all you guys saying ... "That's literally never happened to me. Ever." Have you ever been waiting inside a house for nightfall so you can attack the Seamstress, and when night finally falls and the Seamstress roams near the house she is right next to Christana???

V Rising :steamfacepalm:
This is not a valid complaint.

It's people being melodramatic and upset and unreasonably overreacting because they discovered they're not very good at video games.

Than atleast give a visual border of the arena. If they want me to stay up close why even bother upgrading my crossbow or play ranged at all. The boss that unlock garden stuff keep resetting. I ended up cheesing her strafing around a big rock.

Never happened.... :steambored:
