How do you share a castle with clan?
Tried pvp duos with a buddy. We are in a clan. Been trying to power through quests thinking it would let us build together. but we have beaten 3boisses , gotten new spells and found a bunch of research and still cant just build one castle together. How far in do we have to go? or is it just we cant hurt each other and thats the clan part?

You can; Tell your other clan members they can fulfill journal quests simply by interacting with the items it mentions. Only one of you has to build anything.

If you're in a clan, you both basically have full access to everything just like as if you were alone. What is it you two are unable to do?

Yep, you unnecessarily built extra things. Whenever the game tells you to build something, it also tells you to interact with it. Simply completing the interact part completes the quest. The only exceptions for this are things like "build 3 borders" (which your friend can add borders to your base), and build 3 palisades (which your friend can add to your base).
