We need a report button and moderation

It's a pvp game with a possibility to destroy castles and steal ressources of other players, i can't understand devs didn't think about adding a report button ingame before starting the early access. On the PVP Official server i am right now, people are freely being racist and homophobic, saying terrible things just because they got killed or raided by other players.
There is absolutely no fun to know that my gameplay experience is mixed with such mentalities and behaviors from other players. Being able to report and make these players get banned would surely improve the quality of the game and make the exchanges between players a bit more healthy.

You can easily run your own server and ban people you want.

Yeah. Good luck with that. How do you think small team of devs will moderate thousands of players? This is not feasible. Just ignore anything some idiot says. Why its so hard for you?

Maybe an ignore function. But I would never suggest adding in censorship. Not because I condone whatever -ism people are having an issue with, but because I see no reason to bog the devs down with sifting through thousands of reports, daily, because someone didn't like what someone else said.

When a player is wishing your parents to die and you to get a cancer just because he got killed, and then criticize your country or your ethnicity or any kind of sexual orientation, nope i'm not gonna make my own server to avoid them. I'll just wish them to get banned quickly.

I just shrug it off. The entire point of those insults is to get under your skin. Just fire back with something like: "Yo, ask your mom to give me a discount on her only fans."

Because i expect to log on a game to have fun, not to read atrocities on the chat. It's been 3 days in a row i see players insulting each other on the game. It shouldn't be players like me going on private servers because of a minority taking all the space on the chat.

I also expect it's possible to get a moderation team. Some invested players who followed the development of the game or even old players from battlerite who proved their maturity could be hired as volunteer moderator if the devs can't do that by themselves. Many community games do that

You can never know what people lives or lived in their life. Wishing a cancer or your parents to die can be insanely hurtful for some people who faced terrible events in their lives. Please, don't consider people hurted by that as "being fragile" like if it wasn't normal to be affected

It absolutely should be you moving. If you don't have thick enough skin to deal with the world as it is then the world has no obligation to accommodate you.

If you can deal with it piss off. Nothing of value would be lost.

I agree, but in the meantime you should screenshot racism and hand it over to hungry journalists and Twitter activists. Unmoderated chat is folly and the developers should have known better. Cutting corners on report features = profiting off racism.

Racism (etc.) offending people individually is only the tip of the iceberg, so ignoring it individually does nothing useful. It turns PvPers racist, when they view racist trash-talk as aspirational, and join groups of people where racist talk is part of the culture. It makes PC gaming look terrible to everyone. It alienates entire groups of people.

Who will pay for team of moderatos? you? Because in every multiplayer game with moderation it is not really dev that pays for them, but you. With your subscription fee or donations. You cant expect to have moderators in the 1 time pay game.

No on any online game. Only on those with monthly fee or donations. This is a buy to play game. With no donations. You cant expect devs to pay tons of money for moderation from their own pocket.

Well i can't agree more with you. Legitimizing toxic behaviors inspire other people to follow the same mentality. Even if only 10% of toxic players would be banned with a report button, i'd still consider it's better than nothing. But right now, knowing you can say anything on the chat and not be afraid of any consequence is a huge mistake from the devs.
