if they make it back alive... yay for torchbearers tossing fire lol.
Warning -> SPOILER!!
You can use the "Cave Passages" to transport EVERYTHING...
This also includes charmed Humans!
for example:

Especially when having a servant in tow.
And depending on where your castle is on a cramped server, they won't help in general even if the way back to base ends up being ridiculously long.
I charmed 6 paladins and 3 light weavers in Brighthaven and just rode out back to the farms and when I got to my base they just teleported next to me.
Have you tried not babysitting them on the way back? like literally just forget they exist and they won't even be on the screen to get hit (unless you stop riding or get hit off your horse)
This is not true. They do not become immune to damage. Higher level followers are harder to kill/damage as they seem to keep their "gear level". Where as any lower level follower will get one shot by any stray projectile.
Honestly, the charm mechanic needs tweaking. If they want players to not yolo their way back to base in hopes that their worker follower wont get killed, then they need to make followers impervious to damage and even disallow riding. It seems silly that you can ride a horse but can't turn into a wolf. I just can't see the logic in that kind of design.
Take for example, you find a high % target, but they're paired with some buddies such as a fire archer, torch bearer, or bomber. Not only do you have to not accidently kill your target, but you have to avoid an excessive amount of fire, while your target feels being set on fire is his shield against you
And then, if you some how manage it, there's no way to attempt to heal your charmed target, because you're locked out of all your spells. Would be nice to be able to heal them for the journey back to your castle
Having a horse ready does help, and they do indeed keep up, but there's still a chance a random arrow might just miss you as you ride by and nail your charm
Yesterday I found a 100% worker, all on his own, no guards near. Easy target. Not far from castle either. Then I watched him die instantly because I hit the Q button instead of the R button by accident. Not blaming anything for that, it was my screw up. I'm pretty sure I felt as dead inside as my vamp at that point though
I have had some awsomely bad luck in this game. Still enjoying it though XD
Had a friend jump in the game for the first time recently, and while getting him settled he kept running into 100% bloods. All found in the lower level areas where I kind of stopped roaming. He has become an odd lucky charm I guess. Only ones we're missing now is a worker and a scholar
If you have a spare Castle Heart available, bring the materials to make one as well as a few borders and a prison cell and a Fat Goby fish. Find the human you want, charm them, then put the heart, borders, cell down. Put them in, feed them the Goby to full health, then take them out, dismantle the structures (if you're quick enough you should get 100% building materials back as there's a small safety window when you're placing stuff). Then you can take them home with full health. They could still die, but they can take a lot more damage lol
It's really simple. Targets have zero risk of dying. It's fast.
