How do you change chat channels?

The game says the enter key allows global chat, but whenever I try, it only gives local chat. How do I go to the global chat channel?

Press enter to bring up chat then press TAB to change the channel.

Or you can press Enter and then either /global or Enter and then Global and it will change. Can’t remember which one
