how is it possible for early access game to have dlc?

what do we expect next? dlc before the actual game??
someday in near future, this sketchy practice selling a bunch of incomplete package will be adopted by lots of greedy publishers. this game will take the honor as the progenitor.

the DLC you refer to is cosmetics it doesnt effect gameplay at all

it's also not uncommon for games to have founders packages which is what one is.

Another post about the same topic, made multiple times a day by people who don't actually read what the DLC is. Quite amazing that people who don't want to look into what something is, somehow feel the need to complain about it on forums.

I get your point and don't like DLC for a not finished game (or cut content to be sold later) myself.

That being said, this DLC is an optional way of supporting the further development of this game. Nothing in the DLC's contains anything you would otherwise miss in the game. :)

If its "just to support the dev" that option remains and nobody gets content removed from the product they pay for.

Because it's better than slapping a $60 pricetag on the game when it's not even in that category. They need funding to keep development going. You're paying $20 for a very solid game, with optional different looking pixels if you wish to spend your money on it. Just to look different. You're not missing out on content.

Hardly the progenitor... It's a bit scummy, but it happens. Ark for example was selling new maps with new creatures and game mechanics before the base game was released. At least this game is only selling cosmetics.

Probably because the 3d artists finished their work before release, as usual and instead of firing them, the studio lets them continue to work on stuff which they can put in support packs. I guess if they would have known that they sell 0,5 million copies the first week, they would have decided diffently

I went to burger king the other day and you know what? You could buy a whopper for $6 or you could buy a whole heart attack with fries and a giant soda for $12. They cut content and then want to offer it to me for double the price! scoundrels!

$20 to be a tester for the early access phase, its not a released title and the current price will most certainly go up if the game doesn't flop. Frankly I'd rather pay for and receive a proper game.

EA games are to provide their own funding. Early access is for testing and feedback, sales via EA and if the game is attempting fund development via sales its already violated EA guidelines.

Stop sounding like a damn tool. It was an industry standard for decades, when the industry HAD standards. Expecting something that was standard (and ethical) to be maintained isn't entitlement, its common bloody sense.
