1. You can play on a V Rising official server.
2. Rent a server from a company like G Portal, so the server is hosted by a 3rd party and you and your friends can all log in anytime. The account administrator has access to all save files, and game settings. Can also take the server offline so no one can log in until you say so, and you can also reset a server erasing all the saved games.
3. Your own PC: You can create a private server that is publicly visible or hidden, password protected or not, and your computer and server must be online for others to play (when your sign out of the game, or turn off the PC, the server goes offline)
OK thanks, how big are the official V rising servers? Are they pvp/pve servers or is there no such thing and its a free for all?
Official servers all have PvP rules, each with different game settings. You'd have to look at each one to see;
- whether raids only allowed between certain times of day
- whether castles can be destroyed or captured
- whether your gear can be looted
Stuff like that.
Official servers are listed by region, so like, Europe, US West, etc.
Some servers have maximum clan size of 2, some have max of 4.
Clans are where you are on the same team, kinda like a guild.
Yeah you'd probably want to host your own server. Now, you can do that a couple ways. One way a few of my more tech savvy friends have done it is they host a persistent server on a spare PC.
Nope, there's plenty of pve content, it is not pvp only.
