SAVE FILE TAKES TOO MUCH STORAGE SPACE
As the title says, when I checked the game save file in AppData folder, the save file itself consists of several autosave file with each being around 78MB, and there are a lot of them, each playthrough can produce around 6-7 new autosave file

Before long, the whole save folder is around 1GB
Is there a workaround to mitigate this issue ?
Save files, should not take that much of storage space tho, although I can also delete the old autosaves and leave the recent one intact

Thankyou !

In the file ServerHostSettitngs.json

"AutoSaveCount": 50,
"AutoSaveInterval": 600,

50 save files took up about 4 gigs.

Just lower the autosavecount down, so there are less save files

The default means there will be up to 50 save files before it starts recycling them. We lowered it to 10

So 1 save file per 10 mins, and only up to 10 save files is what I recommend.

thank you for clarifying this. And also Why the ♥♥♥♥ did the devs set it up like that? That is like seriousley stupid for any game dev to do.

Early access game with a chance of a save file becoming corrupt. Maybe they thought with 50 saves fies, you can go back 9 hrs if needed.

Also harddrive space is cheap those, most do not care if they waste 5-10 gigs.

Hello, thx for replying
How do I edit the autosavecount down ?
Through the .ini files ?
Or should I restart the game by creating a new server

Much appreciated tho
I just knew about this

Hello, I've opened the serverhostsettings.json, but I couldn't find what you have mentioned before

By the way I host my own server, its PVE, and I play solo
Maybe the one you mentioned is for PVP ?
Welcome to 2022 crying about Diskspace in the times of peta bytes...
